One wonders how many black lives were gunned down in the city of Chicago between the time Mayor Lori Lightfoot turned down President Trump’s offer of federal assistance in fighting the crime wave that was ravaging her city and still is, and her current pleading to “dementia” Joe Biden for similar federal assistance. Quick to hunt down residents not wearing a mask, Lightfoot slashed Chicago’s law enforcement budget while preaching social justice and demanding police be fully vaccinated before they arrest criminals her prosecutors would fail to prosecute. As PJ Media reports:
This is a big turnaround for Lightfoot. In the summer of 2020, with violence and chaos raging in the streets of Chicago, she arrogantly refused an offer from then-President Donald Trump for federal assistance.
“What we do not need, and what will certainly make our community less safe is secret, federal agents deployed to Chicago,” Lightfoot wrote in a letter to Trump.
She added: “Please stop with the rhetoric and find the moral courage to simply support the needed actions listed above: enact common-sense gun laws, partner with our law enforcement actors through providing investigative resources, deliver on community-based resources for public safety, and invest in our neighborhoods and residents.”.

The police have stood down because they are targeted by those who hate the police.
How will it be any different when the feds get in a shooting with a criminal?
I doubt it would be...... asking the Feds to do what your police department wisely chooses not to do given the level of support you provide them is simply kicking the can. They are just as likely (even more maybe given the lack of street experience) to be involved in a major incident as your own department.

I think we all know, but liberals will not say out loud, that she did not want federal assistance from the Trump administration.
But now that the president is a good Democrat, now she feels okay with requesting federal assistance.
She has bizarre thought processes anyway. Recently, she blamed the smash and grab looting happening in Chicago , on stores not having enough security. She decried the lack of security guards and security cameras in retail stores.
We’ve seen enough to smash and grab film clips on the news to know that these guys are not deterred by security cameras.
And I doubt that a mob of looters would be deterred by one or two unarmed security guards, who are unarmed and do not have police powers to arrest or interfere with the looting.
Lefties create problems that they have no idea of how to solve.

It’s a trap.
She wants to misdirect the responsibility away from her harassment of the police and toward gun control. She specifically wants the ATF to send teams in that regard.
Light in the loafers is conflicted. Fighting crime is the opposite of supporting her voters.

From what I read all these crimes are committed by people who have been arrested and released for other prior crimes.
I have a crazy idea. Maybe we lock up criminals away from the general law abiding population.
Ninety-percent of fat federal cops are low-IQ, paper pushing bureaucrats. They know nothing about urban policing. The feds could flood a specific area with a bunch of morons standing around in their ninja clown suits, but the gangbangers would soon discover that these fatboys are barking dogs with no teeth.
