A Reason to Be Vaccinated: Freedom

My aim in this article is to encourage Christians to be vaccinated, if they can do so with a good conscience and judicious medical warrant.

The people I have especially in view are those who are not vaccinated because of fear of being out of step with people they respect, and in step with people they don’t admire. My message to them is simple: You are free.

So, I am not talking directly to everybody. If the shoe fits, put it on, check your conscience, consult your doctor, and go get vaccinated. If it doesn’t, go tearfully and cheerfully on your way. Tearfully, because over 4.5 million people have died from COVID-19 worldwide (including over 700,000 Americans). And cheerfully, because Christ makes it miraculously possible to love people by being “sorrowful yet always rejoicing” (2 Corinthians 6:10)....

My point is this: Don’t be enslaved by fear of man. Don’t be enslaved by the fear of breaking ranks with ideological allies. The old name for this is peer pressure. You are free.....

Piper, of whom I am not that familiar (but he seems to be a big deal in some Christian circles, I gather), seems to think many people are not getting vaccinated for ideological reasons.

Well, many of these people are Trump voters, and Trump hasn't exactly been telling people not to get jabbed.

Piper is 100% pro jab and tries to use the Bible to justify his opinion. And that falls far short, even in what he is trying to use as justification.
Simply, if I am a slave to God, which I am; I do not hear or feel God telling my to get vaccinated. God is not telling us to get this jab. Probably for good reason. So I am free to choose. I choose to accept the risk as low as it is (especially since I’m convinced I’ve had it along with my wife and kids). I’ve got a bunch of other reasons, but that’s it.

We have quite a few people now with natural immunity that are not vaccinated. I don’t really see this taken into account in the stats.
Many of the young are unvaccinated. There is really no upside for those under healthy under 40 or so to take the vaccine so wisely many have not. I seriously doubt we are seeing any deaths in the unvaccinated young due to Covid (but more likely due to vaccine which they will never admit)
The antibodies to the spike protein are apparently short lived, several months and even less in older people. The vaccines can result in diminished natural immunity because there is no immune response to the rest of the virus only spike protein. The T cell immunity may be impaired among the vaccinated so time will tell in thus grand experiment.

In the same way that we have God given rights that are not given to us by any man and therefore, have no moral justification for being withheld by any man, any freedoms stemming from the COVID shot fall into that category-in a free county we have those rights already.

Agreeing to be vaccinated so that you can travel freely is ceding something to Statists and Tyrants that you already have.

piper is not exactly solid- He was a big deal i n the Christian community awhile back, but has said some pretty unbiblical things since-

So he is using peer pressure to cause people to think they are under the spell of peer pressure if they don’t want to get vaccinated because they don’t trust the government and it’s myriad of lies surrounding vaccines, and covid deaths, and constantly changing rules and regulations and mandates?

He’s trying to pressure these folks into believing they are being pressured by ‘ideologues’
piper apparently unquestioningly believes the death counts- not even bothering to investigate- EVERYTHING is being listed as ‘dying from covid’ practically- The question is no longer “IF” they are lying, but rather ‘how much is the government lying about covid deaths?”

Again- he is pressuring folks by trying to convince them that they are on the wrong side, that they have been unduly influenced by others who have an agenda- He doesn’t even bother to stop and ask whether the folks might actually have rational well thought out reasons for rejecting the vaccinations- No- he just tells them that they are under a spell because they are too ignorant to think for themselves- evidently-

Way to go John Piper- Way to insult the intelligence of millions and millions of folks who refuse to allow government to jab them with vaccines that are proving to be dangerous and to cause serious health issues- Heck- countries are STOPPING booster shots because they are proving dangerous!-
