Baldwin is undoubtedly a POS, but this isn’t his fault. The prop master is responsible for the gun, and the director likely had Baldwin positioned in the way that the gun was aimed at the DP. No one could have expected the gun to fire a real bullet.
Yes, the police should look at the prop master/armorer.
As a matter of completeness they should also check that Arec - or anyone else who had access to that gun - didn’t have a motive to kill Halyna.
Because this would be a heck of a way to murder someone.
Bullshit
NEG-A-TIVE!!! He was holding the weapon. It is most certainly his fault for violating every firearm rule there is. I’m quite sure he has been trained.
The person in possession of the gun is always responsible to clear and make safe
Bullcrap. He pretty much violated all four of the basic rules of gun safety.
Baldwin is undoubtedly a POS, but this isn’t his fault.

I disagree. If the POS had taken a gun safety class, he would know to treat every gun likes it’s loaded, even if you know it’s not.
I guess he was too busy trying to ban guns, instead of learning to safely handle them.
“ Baldwin is undoubtedly a POS, but this isn’t his fault.”
Wrong
ANYONE who handles a gun is responsible for it. It’s a core concept that you assume ALL guns are loaded. He likely outsourced that responsibility to others and because if that someone is now dead.
He’s also the producer, so it will be interesting to learn about the people he hired to handle and prepare the weapons.
Yes, it is his fault. Each actor is responsible for checking their weapon and SHOWING the gun is empty to the other actors and crew before the scene. It’s called professional courtesy and a safety check. Always done prior to filming.
If you have a gun in your hand; you’re responsible.
If you pull the trigger of the gun in your hand; you’re responsible. <—— notice the period.
The armorer may be responsible for the weapons on set, but the person holding it is the last and final check. It’s always been thus.
