From last night’s gubernatorial debate against Republican Glenn Youngkin, an … interesting soundbite from the guy on whom the fate of the Democratic agenda in Washington may rest. I don’t know how Democratic parents will react to it but it’s a gift to Youngkin in revving up GOP turnout. Few issues have been as urgent to conservatives over the past 18 months as parental control of their children’s education, from keeping schools open amid COVID to opposing mask mandates to resisting attempts to indoctrinate them with lessons on Critical Race Theory.
Now here’s McAuliffe telling them to pipe down and stay out of schools’ way. “’Elect me and you will have no say in your child’s education’ is a helluva campaign pitch,” tweeted Abigail Marone, Josh Hawley’s press secretary, about the clip.
If he had said that parents shouldn’t have absolute power over what schools teach (e.g., creationism in lieu of evolution), that would be one thing. For those who want total control over their kid’s education, homeschooling is an option. But he went much further than that. And he did so in the context of a sensitive subject, the degree to which sexually explicit material should be available to kids.

At last night’s @FCPSNews school board meeting, brave mom Stacy Langton revealed porn + pedophilia in library books. The board cut her mic + fled but I was able to record Stacy. Parents yelled, “Shame!” at the board for turning the county into #Fairfaxxx. No rest for @defendinged
Parents are ultimately responsible for teaching their children well.
By this morning, Youngkin had made this into a campaign ad!

The wife of a friend was also friends with a teacher and invited to her to the house. My friend expressed his opinion that parents should have more day in what goes on in schools. He meant that he thought parents had a lot to offer. The teacher said, “Why? So the kids turn out like you?”. My friend was a decent, intelligent , hardworking man who took care of his family. For this woman to sneeringly dismiss him, right in his own house, shows how insufferably arrogant a lot of teachers are.
The board seems pretty impressed with themselves. That’s quite an intimidating perch they have up there.

Depends on the school district..look at LA County schools, 99.9 percent of the teachers are commies..my nephew’s lil friend she goes to LA County school they are teaching her CRT, her mother told her to just ignore it but she is being taught it, 1st grade
