Apparently it is our old friend Bob Woodward, who actually seems to be doing some real investigative journalism.

Nixon was not a set-up. Nixon simply should have come out and said what he did - tried to protect some subordinates - and then he should have fired them and moved on. But he had a bunker mentality (from years of attacks) and a difficult personality, and even his overtures to the Communist Chinese were not enough to save him. There was even an opera written about this, “Nixon in China.”

But Woodward always struck me as at least somewhat ethical, although I wouldn’t say the same about Bernstein.

So this is a major revelation.

My educated guess is, Mark Milley, the Joint Chiefs chairman & chief Peacock assured the CCP that the US would not attack China when they annexed Taiwan. And if there was too much of a backlash, they would give China ample warning in order to prepare.

I was not too familiar with Posobeic until recently, but he seems to be quite accurate and have very good sources.

This treason is institutional - it is hard to see how re-electing Trump in 2020 (or 2024, for that matter) would make any significant difference. Milley was certainly not acting on his own initiative.
