Florida Gov. DeSantis and and Texas Gov. Abbott's Opposition to Masking Children Is Finding Agreement From Unlikely Sources
Red State ^ | 08/23/2021 | Brandon Morse

Posted on 08/23/2021 8:19:22 PM PDT by SeekAndFind

The Democrats and their pet media have been blasting derision from every working screen and speaker about how dangerous and irresponsible Republican Governors like Texas’s Greg Abbott and Florida’s Ron DeSantis are for not forcing children to wear masks alongside adults.

Since the ever-changing CDC guidelines now say that masking children is integral to stopping the spread of COVID-19, the left has gone into overdrive since Abbott passed his ban on mask mandates within the state of Texas and DeSantis with his executive order allowing parents to opt-out of masking their children if they please.

Interestingly enough, Abbott and DeSantis may not be in agreement with the CDC, but they are in agreement with a good number of health departments from the rest of the western world. As highlighted by Fox News, many developed countries have come to the same conclusion as Abbott and DeSantis in that it’s unnecessary to mask children, if not irresponsible to do so:

The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, an agency of the European Union, does not recommend masks for children 6 and under in any setting or for children 12 and under in a classroom setting. In the Republic of Ireland, children ages 13 and younger are only advised to wear a mask if they attend middle school. In Sweden, children have never been told to wear masks in school.

In Iceland, children ages 15 and younger are exempt from mask requirements. In Norway, schoolchildren 7 and younger are not required to wear masks. When it comes to the U.K., which is reporting a similar COVID-19 surge as the U.S., public health officials in England and Wales are no longer recommending masks in classrooms starting this September. In Scotland, children 12 and under are no longer required to wear face coverings in public places. And officials in Northern Ireland have indicated they plan to drop masking requirements in schools this fall.

In New Zealand, masks are not recommended in schools or for children younger than 6 in any public setting, but children or teachers who wish to wear them “may do so if they want to” and “should not be criticized for doing so,” the country’s Ministry for Education website currently states.

As Nick Arama highlighted in May, the CDC seems to be influenced by political entities more than science, specifically the American Federation Teacher’s union. Emails obtained through FOIA show correspondence between the AFT and the CDC with the White House cc’d.

“What seems strange to me here is there would be this very intimate back and forth including phone calls where this political group gets to help formulate scientific guidance for our major public health organization in the United State,” professor of medicine at the University of California, San Francisco, Dr. Monica Gandhi told The Post. “This is not how science-based guidelines should work or be put together.”

So if the CDC has been politically compromised, can we safely assume that European health departments are getting it right on children and masks? Are they freer from bureaucracy and political meddling than ours is on this subject?

Texas already has around a thousand Guardsmen on the border, and recently started deputizing some to make arrests.

Covid doesn’t make young children sick. The problem is they infect the public school staff. That is what is closing down our local schools in my area. Too many teachers out with covid.

No that’s bullshit.

It’s not infecting the public school staff.

The protocol at my school is requiring staff to stay home if they have a damn cold (if they have any symptoms that resemble a cold that resemble Covid).

I’d say half of us continue to go to work even when we aren’t feeling well. The other half take advantage of their sick days due to this. I’m tempted to also. I have 40 sick days to use before I leave in December. That would be 8 weeks to not do my job for the kids I was hired for. That is the only thing stopping me.

“Too many teachers out with covid.”

Bet not.

Bet 99% have a headache, or a sniffle, or a touch of sinus congestion, or some other SYMPTOM that’s been scurrilously tied to COVID, but could indicate a thousand other innocuous things besides.

I mean — HEADACHE?

For crying in a bucket! People get headaches all the damned time; it’s no reason to go home, much less stay home. Oh, but the CDC decided if you have a headache, mmmm-mmm-mmmm — it might be the ‘rona!

Sooo, NOW that nagging tension headache you’d have conquered with Ibuprofen and a cuppa coffee on the way to the office — NOW it’s a harbinger of Doom. DOOOM, I say! DOOOOOOOOMMM!

That and a whole roster of other petty physiological evidences of next to nothing.

If you had HALF of them at once — MAYBE that’d indicate something problematic. But they’re booting people out of the workplace over SINGLE symptoms, then KEEPING them away until they get a negative test result that they never credibly needed except to jump through the hoops like a cowed, trained lion for the globalist Ringmasters.

Tell you what: I’m a BELIEVER in eternal, flaming Hell; only way I can sleep at night these days is knowing a whole passel of these elitist, jackass control-freaks have it comin’ in spades. They put us all through the wringer — DECADES and DECADES some of ‘em been doin it; and I mean with IMPUNITY, and GLEE.

If there were no Hell, there’d NEVER be Justice; not in this world, nor the next. But there IS, and BOY they gonna GET theirs. I just pray all the quiet, regular folks just tryina live their lives unmolested by government get their own souls squared up with Jesus. Ain’t NO reason any good, law-abiding folks ought to be roasting forever in the fire next to the likes of George Soros.

Yes, it's infecting the public school staff. We have rapid covid tests.

We do have covid rapid tests nowadays, and they are free. I wouldn't recommend you spend much time in a casino.

RE: Covid doesn’t make young children sick. The problem is they infect the public school staff.

So, were they infected by children, or from some other source?

SO let the teachers wear masks. And if they are vaccinated, then they are doubly protected from the kids.

Maybe in many cases but some are getting sent home just because another individual that tests positive for rona was in their orbit. Regardless of whether you are symptom-free, 14 day quarantine for you. Fine then, force me into a 14 day vaca on your dime while I get caught up at the homestead. Bunch of fearful knee-jerk goofballs following senseless procedures that are all over the map. Kinda reminds me of whack-a-mole.

That's a good question and it needs to be addressed. It is almost always traced back to the kids. Anecdotally, my daughter is a nurse who ran a local covid unit for 11 months, and was hands-on with the patients. Obviously, she wore all the protective gear. She managed not to get covid all that time until her 12 year-old son brought it home to her.

Teachers don't want to wear masks any more than you do. And, most of them are also hesitant about taking the vax.

Masks do NOTHING to prevent CCP virus, NOTHING.

And no one should be surprised if we learn, sometime in the future, that forcing children to breathe in their exhaust, (for over a year), through dirty, bacteria laden cloths pulled over their mouths and noses, has actually done damage to them, i.e. their respiratory systems. (Developing lungs need to be unobstructed, and have fresh air to breathe to function properly.)

It's common sense.

Seriously, why are there warnings on plastic bags, not to let small children play with them?

It's because they might suffocate if they put the bag over their head..

But, partially suffocating children for hours and hours, even when they are exercising, (during P.E. classes), is OK?

🙄

So why are they so pushy about the kids having to wear masks? They don’t want to wear them? Well, fight back as a group.

Because it's the kids who pass around the covid. But, masks are only good if they are the right ones and are worn properly.

Then tell the teachers to get vaccinated, or more specifically, tell their union to REQUIRE they get vaccinated.

They likely don't want to get vaccinated any more than you do. And, from what I'm hearing, I don't blame them.
