There is some speculation floating around social media (mostly, but not totally, from the right) that Democrats may try to pull the 25th Amendment card on Biden to push him aside and bring Kamala Harris forward in an effort to save face in this moment of geopolitical crisis. It is some of the same speculation you saw several times when the Left called for members of the Trump administration to turn on Trump and invoke the amendment.
However, the Democrats have put themselves into such a terrible position that they absolutely cannot get rid of Biden through this means, or else they give up the only chance they have to get anything through the Senate, and they would definitely hurt their electoral chances in 2022 and 2024.
In August of 1974, Gerald Ford became the President of the United States after Richard Nixon resigned. In order to get a Vice President, Congress had to approve Nelson Rockefeller.
“Whenever there is a vacancy in the office of the Vice President, the President shall nominate a Vice President who shall take office upon confirmation by a majority vote of both Houses of Congress,” Section 2 of the amendment explains.
This last happened in 1974, when Vice President Gerald Ford — himself a replacement for Vice President Spiro T. Agnew, who resigned after being accused of tax evasion — replaced President Richard Nixon. Ford nominated Nelson Rockefeller to serve as his vice president, according to the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum.

Between Biden and Kamala, who is worse?
Pelosi
If he is removed, a smart play would be joe manchin as VP.
Though one of the “squat” would be more likely.
Elizabeth Warren, Pete Buttgig(sp?)????
I wonder if Biden has enough of a conscience that this is an albatross around his neck.
Commi-la Harris should also be tossed with the 25th Amendment. She is just as complicit as Biden and has also failed in other responsibilities.
The order of succession specifies that the office passes to the vice president; if the vice presidency is simultaneously vacant, or if the vice president is also incapacitated, the powers and duties of the presidency pass to the speaker of the House of Representatives (Nancy Pelosi)and the vice presidency to the president pro tempore of the Senate (Patrick Leahy). That would be a disastrous combination, which would double down on the voters’ desire to do a clean sweep of the DemonKKKrats.
You are correct. I have added the possibility that Harris will be pitched in Post #26. We know she is just as useless as Biden.
Pretty sure harris is ineligible anyway.
They will try to go with ‘weekend at Bidens’ first
Typical of the asshats at Red state, the cabinet certainly CAN invoke the 25th amendment but the political consequences mean they probably won’t.
Big Mo? Crist? They don’t have much of a bench. Wonder if they’re dumb enough to go with AOC or Beto.
“If Harris does try to push Biden out, though, it could split both parties, because some Democrats still like Biden and some Republicans like Harris even less than Biden.”
You failed to address a very key wild card. How would this be treated by the Sisterhood since the Ho would be the first female President, broken glass .....
“At least 35 House Republicans and at least 10 Senate Republicans would vote for whoever Harris nominates.”
Methinks I agree. And she only needs one.
However, I think the real fly in the soup is Harris. I do not think the puppeteer, whoever that is wants her in the oval office. For several reasons. Including her vacuousness.
If the Cartel tells Biden to quit, he will quit.
“She would then be next in line if Harris is removed or something happens to her.”
I wondered for a thousandth of a nanosecond if the Queen would perhaps arrange for something to happen to Kammie the Commie if that situation were in play.
If a vacancy of the office of VP comes up, the GOP should insist that one of the Democratic Senators from a state with a Republican governor be appointed, creating a Senate seat vacancy.
The senate cowards would approve a liberal democrat because “it belongs to Kamala”
,**😳**
Thank you. I’ll be up all night now.
Bump
Whoever would be her vice-president would have higher ratings than she does. She would not like having a vice-president more popular than her.
Remember, nationally she has had no support. Her primary campaign was so dismal, she dropped out before any primary took place. And she received NO votes for president. I think if she manages to take the office of president her polls will start out under-water.
She doesn’t want to have any association with Afghanistan. Fine. How is she doing with the one job she was designated for, i.e. border policy? Hmmm?
