The Democrats were at it again.
This time they tried to federalize our elections in the middle of the night, but thank God, Ted Cruz was there to block it.

That’s right, while you were sleeping, Ted was awake and blocking Dems latest attempt to take over our elections.
Daily Wire reported that Cruz blocked an attempt by Senate Democrats to push through a federal election overhaul bill early Wednesday morning.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) brought the For The People Act, a bill critics say amounts to a federal takeover of elections, to the floor around 3:30 a.m. after the Senate had concluded 15 hours of amendment votes on a $3.5 trillion budget resolution. In the dead of night, Schumer sought to pass the federal overhaul of elections by unanimous consent, according to the Houston Chronicle.

Thank goodness for Ted Cruz. I guess the rest of the poor sleepy Republicans were snoring in their beds while the Democrats were working hard to push their agenda through.
Make voter fraud legal bill.
Not that the Constitution matters to these people any more, but does not the same spell out that each state has the authority to conduct elections? Can the Senate vitiate state authority that easily?
Too much trouble to edit out the ads from your excerpt?
Lazy FReeper?
Say what you will about Ted Cruz but he has done some great things as a Senator. Thanks Senator Cruz!
Thanks Ted
They were probably lied to and led to believe they were done for the night and the Senate would not be conducting any more business.
It certainly tells you the Democrats are playing for keeps, and only a few on our side are paying attention.
What’s the deal with the wasted excerpt space, tripling the one line and adding zero more to the meaning but including the ad space?
Don’t forget election workers. They’re big on doing illegal ballot drops after midnight.
God Bless Senator Cruz!!!
“Sand in the gears.”
At every chance.
“Thanks, Senator Cruz!”
Senator Cruz was one of the only two Senators to vote against certifying Biden’s election. (The other Senator was Josh Hawley.)
Also, when some states, led by Texas, brought a suit against those states whose electors had certified Biden, saying that those states had violated their own election laws, Senator Cruz said he would help in the arguments before the Supreme Court. (Unfortunately, the Supreme Court declined to hear the case.)
On the whole, after Trump became President, Senator Cruz has been very loyal to him.
The Republicans need to take shifts to make sure at least two of them are there at all times so no ploy like this can work.
Thank you Senator Cruz.
Article I Section 4 gives state legislatures the power to set "The Times, Places and Manner of holding Elections for Senators and Representatives," however it gives Congress the power to alter those state powers.
Article I Section 4:
The Times, Places and Manner of holding Elections for Senators and Representatives, shall be prescribed in each State by the Legislature thereof; but the Congress may at any time by Law make or alter such Regulations, except as to the Place of Chusing Senators. However, Article II Section 1 gives the state legislatures the power to conduct elections for Electors to the Electoral College, and Congress has no power to alter these elections except for the date on which it occurs.
Article II Section 1:
Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors, equal to the whole Number of Senators and Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress: but no Senator or Representative, or Person holding an Office of Trust or Profit under the United States, shall be appointed an Elector. This means that if Congress chooses to nationalize Congressional elections, the states will have the option to split the ballots into Presidential elections, Congressional elections, and local elections. Each ballot would have its own set of rules, with only the Congressional elections mandated by the Election bill. The Congress may determine the Time of chusing the Electors, and the Day on which they shall give their Votes; which Day shall be the same throughout the United States.
However, in practical terms, the states would likely conduct all elections the same way for cost and convenience reasons.

These communist DC democrats and their RINO cohorts demonstrably don’t give a damn about the law but they think that the American people do and they expect us to abide by their BS laws. Maybe it’s time the American people stand up and demonstrate that we will not recognize nor abide by any law that is unconstitutional on its face and then act accordingly.
Thank you. Very helpful. The citizens need a close eye on those who count the votes; a way to verify their vote was truly counted. Assign a random number for each voter, each election, and let them see their vote among the sea of votes. Anything less and we’ll be ruled by tyrants, as is coming about.
