Watch FBI Director Cristopher Wray answering questions from Senator Amy Klobuchar about the Capitol breach on January 6. When she points out how unprepared the FBI seemed to be despite the fact that all you had to be was a sentient being to know there would be problems there that day, Wray seems very oddly satisfied to the point of appearing to be almost giddy. A very strange reaction especially when compared the his extremely defensive attitude when he was questioned about FISA abuses by the FBI.

It is a form of deception called copping to a lesser plea where the FBI director admits to being unprepared for the riot rather than having to admit having planned the riot and the crowd control methods to get protestors into the White House.
While fake laughter is perceived as a social nicety, it’s also used to manipulate people. In the police interview room, subjects may use laughter to hide their lies and appear less dangerous than they actually are.
