“ The cult of Apple was bound to run out of steam eventually.
It hasn’t. Check the financials.
“At some point twice as expensive for only marginally better becomes not acceptable.
You subsidize the cost of fake iphones by accepting they will sell your personal info. You may consider that a great trade off.
They’re now #3 in the cell market. Clearly the shine is fading.
Not getting fake iphones. I wouldn’t want something that’s even trying to ape the Apple UI. They suck.
Be interesting to see how much of the chinese phone is an iPhone.
You know damned good and well the Chinese didnt design it, they just stole everything from someone else.
I wonder if Xiaomi has safety nets around their factory buildings like Apple does?
The US does not have a local work force in the hundreds of thousands to replace the Chinese; it would cost significantly more to manufacture; years for the permitting process; more years to build the plants. Not to mention its nearly impossible to find workers that want to work these days in the first place, want to show up on time, are willing to actually do the work.

Likely made in the same factories - they are not single product vendor manufacturers
They would only have to purchase what they need from Chinese spies working for Apple.
—
No need to purchase anything - ALL companies doing business in China are required to turn over ALL proprietary information.
“The US does not have a local work force ... “
Yeah, you’re right, 350 million people, that’s not nearly enough. Hey, here’s an idea, open the borders!
So, manufacture in China, lay out your well thought out excuses. Transfer the tech to the Chinese, because that’s a requirement. Then watch as they kick your butt in 10 years, rebranding your product.
Bravo.
The cult of Apple was bound to run out of steam eventually.

At nearly US$2.5 trillion valuation AAPL still has a lot of steam to let out. Target price is $150 by some analysts - more steam coming.
Meanwhile the cult of Android is fragmented, uncertain, filled with love of sending their personal data to Google who then sells it to any interested 3rd party - including those in China.
At the mere mention of AAPL in post title or in a comment, the Apple haters rush out from under their rocks, rotting logs, looking all the world like an ant colony on the march.
They’re now #3 in the cell market.

Who’s on First depends were the particular company is in its product cycle.
Yup, they’re still over valued. But of course when you sell nothing but overpriced products that’s to be expected. But they’re trending down.
No cult of Android. It’s just the other choice. You either pay $900 for a $400 phone, or you get an Android. And of course Apple is selling your stuff just as much as anybody. They just put a lot of time into lying about it:

So you keep paying twice as much to be lied to. Meanwhile I recognize the truth, there is no privacy anymore. Hasn’t been for nearly 30 years. And what little there was got shot in the head the minute smartphones got invented.
Didn’t use to. Used to be iPhone was number 1 with a bullet and nobody else came close. Bound to happen eventually.
“ They’re now #3 in the cell market.
#1 in profit
Benefit of being overpriced.

I notice you reference Lefty sites which are always truthful, eh?
The AppleInsider piece is about how Apple works to STOP user data going to advertisers.
The Apple-India piece is over a year old, citing hacks that have to be made by personal access to the users phone by the hacker - which have long been fixed in updates. Moreover, the author relies on reports by other people, then draws conclusions for those assumptions.
There hasn’t been “electronic privacy” since NSA discovered how to tap landlines back in the 1950s.
Re-read the comment at 31. Nobody came close because their was no competition to speak of. Competition always happens. Nor does Apple’s current position mean it is permanent.
BWAHAHAHAHA typical cultist. A leftist conspiracy again Apple?! Riiiiiiight. I just picked the first 4 links. Apple does NOT respect privacy. THEY LIE. Suck it up buttercup.
I read your comment fine, it was factually inaccurate. Just like this one. Apple’s market share is falling. They didn’t have that market because of lack of competition, they had because of cult cache. But the bloom is off the rose. Slowly but surely they are unwinding. It might not be permanent. Apple’s been almost dead a few times but found a way to rebirth the cult. We’ll see. One way or the other I ain’t buying their overpriced crap.
We’re done. You can have the last word. Bye now. Enjoy your cult.
Why do you persist in repeating this lie that you’ve been shown dozens of times before that FoxConn CEO Terry Gou installed those nets on a couple of plants that were hundreds of kilometers away from the nearest plant making any Apple products. The plants that were involved in a spate of suicides that resulted in Foxconn experiencing a suicide rate of less than 1 in 100,000 per year in 2010 to 2011, were making making Microsoft Xboxes, HP Computer cases, and Sony Playstations. Not a single manufacturing plant making Apple products experienced a single suicide. At the time, China’s overall suicide rate overall was almost 22 per 100,000 per year and the suicide rate among the same age cohort in US Ivy League colleges was 18 per 100,000 per year. GIVE IT A REST! You are only making yourself look like a tool.
