The plants that were involved in a spate of suicides that resulted in Foxconn experiencing a suicide rate of less than 1 in 100,000 per year in 2010 to 2011, were making making Microsoft Xboxes, HP Computer cases, and Sony Playstations. Not a single manufacturing plant making Apple products experienced a single suicide. At the time, China’s overall suicide rate overall was almost 22 per 100,000 per year and the suicide rate among the same age cohort in US Ivy League colleges was 18 per 100,000 per year.
