President Joe Biden might be facing a major amount of resistance from law enforcement if he begins cracking down on gun rights with far-left policies.
29 sheriffs in Utah have signed a statement in which they promise to protect their residentsโ Second Amendment rights. The statement also warns Utah to be somewhat skeptical of any legislation that could infringe on their constitutional rights, as reported.
The 29 Utah sheriffs say they will do everything in their power to protect the constitutional rights of their residents both as a collective and as individuals.

Should be 2900, but it’s a start at least...
29?
Thatโs all??

Looks like theyโre all from Utah.
Good on these Sheriffs!!
Will they actively defend an otherwise lawful owner of an unregistered M4?
Sheriff’s in Utah are elected by county & are the top LEO. City LEO’s are required to obey the sheriff’s orders should there be a conflict in who’s running the show. For the most part, the sheriff’s manage the unincorporated areas due to staffing constraints. Utah has 29 counties, thus 29 sheriff’s.
If the sheriff’s say NFW to gun restrictions, the city police will follow their lead.
It’s only Utah’s sheriffs in this article, not all over the nation. I’m pleasantly surprised that even the Salt Lake County Sheriff is going along with this, now! The last time when they all signed onto a letter that went out over the nation, the Salt Lake County Sheriff was the only one not to sign on!
Jane, itโs ALL twenty-nine Sheriffs in Utah! 100% of them.
Excellent work, UT Sheriffs!!
That would’ve been a much more clear headline :-)
Utah is a weird place. Mr. GG2 was involved in a patent lawsuit there and a federal agent showed up to court and ran his mouth about how the guy Mr. GG2 was suing should be able to steal his patents for the good of the country. The judge told him to sit down and shut up because the sovereign state of Utah didn’t give a good GD about the federal government. That’s a quote. They don’t love the Feds.
Well, that is the ultimate question, isn't it?
Many of these statements translate to meaning that they will not assist Federales on their turf, but not actually prevent them from operating. Which doesn't do a whole lot of good.
The U.S. has a long history of sheriffs working with the regular folks in their districts when the need arises. If they do intend to actively stop FedGov goons, they can use all the good help they can get. Up to them.
