They want to stay wealthy.........................
Wealthy people and poor people are in their situations for the same exact reasons.
Each group keeps doing that which will continue their status...........................

They won’t last the winter.
So true.
We were tourists in Whitefish a few years back and I was talking with one of the locals. I asked him how much snow they get in the winter months. He walked up to one of the light posts and reached up as high as his arm could go--and said "that much".

Part of it is a generational thing. Most of our wealthy people are in the baby boom generation because they've spent a lifetime building their wealth and are ready to retire in areas that don't necessarily have good work options. Now's the time to live out "away form it all" like you've always wanted.
When the next generational wave -- the Generation X'ers -- retire there will be another wave doing the same thing.

In other news, Steve Daines started to peruse the want ads, as Montana is now irrevocably blue.

Why have thousands upon thousands of very wealthy people suddenly felt an overwhelming urge to buy a home in Montana?

Dental Floss Raisin’ it up
Waxen it down In a little white box

They have ruined where they live by voting for leftist policies and now want to escape the results of their votes. Montana will be a gonner since Leftists aren’t smart or intellectually honest enough to admit what they did and to not repeat it.

I might be movin’ to Montana soon
Just to raise me up a flop of dental floss
Raisin’ it up, waxen it down
In a little white box that I can sell uptown
By myself, I wouldn’t fave no boss
But I’d be raisin’ my lonely dental floss
Raisin’ my lonely dental floss
Raisin’ my lonely dental floss
Well, I just might grow me some bees
But I’d leave the sweet stuff to somebody else
How about you there?
But then, on the other hand I would
Keep the wax and melt it down
Pluck some floss and swish it aroun’
And I’ll have me a crop
An’ it’d be on top, that’s why I’m movin’ to Montana
Movin’ to Montana soon
Gonna be a dental floss tycoon, yes I am

I’m not sure many of these people are buying these places to live. The elite all have many homes.
The standard to keep up with your friends these days is:
-A house in LA
-A condo in New York
-A beachfront in Florida
-A ski place in Idaho or Montana

Bidenflation is coming. I look at my IRA rising a coupla’ hundred dollars everyday and used to think “Yippee!”. Nowadays I see it go up and know the dollar value went down that much. No more “Yiippee!” feelings anymore.
