Now it seems that lawmakers in New York State have given final approval to legislation that could allow civil lawsuits to be brought against gun makers and dealers. The measure, if signed by Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo, would make the Empire State the first to allow civil suits against firearms companies. It would circumvent the federal law that offers legal immunity to the firearms industry by amending state nuisance law.

Why stop there?

Let’s sue the knife maker when a crazy person stabs someone.
Let’s sue the car manufacturer when a drunk driver causes a crash.
Let’s sue Mother Earth when a mean kid throws a rock at a house.

Etc.

Which was a other reason the ‘safe act might unconstitutional. But ny doesn’t t give a hoot about laws, the constitution, or anything, especially when the Robert’s court won’t uphold even the constitution. But really, man has an inalienable right to self defense adequate to the threat, Cuomo and ilk subverted that right.

Hope Glock, SIG, HK, S&W, CZ, et al. cease all .gov contracts to NY/NYC and tell the distributors not to sell to NY. No parts, magazines, ammo, NOTHING goes behind enemy lines.

Want hold up in any court. Politicians could then be sued for making decisions that failed, etc.

So, if passed, will the survivors of the Happyland Dance Club massacre be allowed to sue the makers of gasoline, matches and lighters out of business?

I had a convict at USP that went to court to watch federal trials follow the Marshals and Agents home. he would wait for lights out, pop the trunks and have all the equipment he needed guns, computers, vests etc.

That is obviously a asinine rationale. What needs to be done is Cuomo put in prison for mass murder.

The Second Amendment is designed to protect itself and the rest of the Constitution. If these corrupt thugs are lucky, they will lose in court. If not, I hope they will lose in some more effective manner.

It’s getting to the point where the only way to retain our inalienable rights is to become criminals and do whatever we wish, that way the law won’t touch us.

Let us be realistic for a moment and look first at the big picture.

(1) There are more modern firearms (not black powder) in the USA than there are people. Yes, so are over 100 years old and chambered for odd calibers, but they are still firearms that can be used under a 2nd Amendment.
(2) Modern firearm firearms take a long time to wear out and when they do, often time a spring replacement or a little bit of machining can put them back in service.
(3) With advances in CNC machining and 3D printing, home manufacturing of firearms is becoming possible for the not machinist.
(4) Lots of people hand load ammunition. People can cast bullets and brass can be used again and again. There are survivalist manuals on how to refurbish spent primers and make crude smokeless powders.

With the above in mind, there is no way that anyone in any way can destroy the ability of Americans to exercise their 2nd Amendment rights, short of firearm confiscation.

The federal government during prohibition tried to “outlaw” the legal distribution of a product (alcohol) that was widely used in our society. When the “legal production” in the USA was stopped, illegal production took off and illegal importation skyrocketed. Does anyone think anything different would happen? I don't.

This is the story of a political jerk, who is in hot water searching to ways to virtue signal his way out of trouble by saying ridiculous things.
