Lawyers suggest that District Attorney Cy Vance might use New York’s “little RICO” statute to prosecute enterprise corruption.
Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance could be considering a criminal charge that former President Donald Trump’s business empire was a corrupt enterprise under a New York law resembling the federal racketeering statute known as RICO, former prosecutors and defense attorneys said.
New York’s enterprise corruption statute — which carries the potential for severe penalties — can be applied to money-making businesses alleged to have repeatedly engaged in criminal activity as a way to boost their bottom line.
“I’m sure they’re thinking about that,” veteran Manhattan defense attorney Robert Anello said. “No self-respecting state white-collar prosecutor would forgo considering the enterprise corruption charge.”
The state law — sometimes called “little RICO” — can be invoked with proof of as few as three crimes involving a business or other enterprise and can carry a prison term of up to 25 years, along with a mandatory minimum of one to three years....

Yes, what you said, I agree.

"Military tribunals will not rely upon Trump-hating civilian juries trying to exert political vengeance." Sadly the military tribunals are being held to purge white Americans from the military. Obama's biggest accomplishment was to transform the military leadership into a politburo.

I call upon any legal beagles reading this to opine freely on what the effect would be of dragging a former US president to the witness stand to have him take the 5th.

Are we just going to let the Democratic Party turn this country into a police state where they arrest the political opposition?Pretty much.

Technically the "Expert[s]" are correct. The D.A. can pursue any charge they please. The problem is proving it in open Court. The O.J. and the Cop in Minnesota Juries solved that problem. Put 12 cowards on a Jury , apply enough intimidation and threats and one can get the desired verdict. The truth be damned. This is the type Jury President Trump will get. This is the type Judge who will sit in Judgment of him.
Add one mort thing to the list of Institutions and Traditions Western Civilization has held near and dear that the Democrat Party and their disciples have murdered: To Wit} The Right to a Fair and Impartial Trial by a Jury of one's Peers.

Meanwhile the mayor stole over $800 million and the governor killed 15,000 people and earlier stole $600 million when he ran HUD.

Of course it is a witch hunt. All they have to do is make three claims of illegality in the Trump organization. Trump doesn't have to be involved. Remember how they framed Gingrich with a creative theory of tax fraud in the 1990s and DeLay with a creative theory of money laundering a few years ago?

They framed and destroyed the political careers of Tom DeLay and Newt Gingrich. Both were eventually exonerated after years. Also, if Trump is charged with RICO, they can freeze his assets before he goes to court.

Not a witch hunt.
Let’s say you could indict The Donald on spurious charges.
The MSM would then push the narrative until well in to the next election cycle thus harming the ONLY hope the GOP as to do any damned thing EVER.

I wouldn’t bet on that. The Democrats took Tom DeLay to court and prosecuted him. They did it to General Flynn and Scooter Libby. They have no problem locking up political opposition.

Once someone is charged with RICO, you don’t even have to go to court to freeze their assets. Also, they can easily win a fake case against Trump in NY with a partisan jury, judges, and prosecutors. Do you think Derek Chauvin was guilty of murder? The corrupt judge kept it in a city where Chauvin couldn’t win, and he refused to sequester the jury, so Democrats like Maxine Waters could threaten them.

Evidently. The Republican Party helped the Democrat Party steal the 2020 election. What is one more thing? Also the Republican Party helped the Democrat Party execute a coup in 2020. Sure the Republican Party will help the Democrat Party turn the United States of America into a Police State, arresting the enemies of Socialism.
Where have you been? Since January 6, 2021, The enforcement arm of the Socialists [Democrats] have been filling the Washington D.C. jails to overflowing with Patriotic American Citizens and enemies of Socialism.

What do you mean where have I been? You act like you are the only one who noticed this. Ridiculous. What gave you the impression that you are telling me something I don't know? Because I want to do something about it instead of throw up my hands in defeat? I've been writing about the Stalinist treatment of the Republicans who protested in the Capitol since the riots. I've been arguing that the death toll was BS since the first article came out portraying the three who died of medical causes as victims of the riot. I've lost friends who don't like what I've been saying. Yeah, the Republicans stink, but they are better than the Democrats. And we are trying to purge the Republican party of Establishment RINOS. Some of the biggest supporters of Mueller in Congress were Paul Ryan, Tray Gowdy, and Lindsey Graham. The Democrats are doers. These RINOs are followers.

I’ve been writing how the Capitol protesters are being framed and tortured by corrupt Democratic prosecutors. I pointed out to Democrats that the treatment is so horrific that even Elizabeth Warren spoke out against it.
