Watch or read the mainstream media news and a constant theme they have been promoting incessantly since the election (and well before that) is of a divided Republican Party engaged in a civil war. Well, longtime political reporter and Politico columnist Jeff Greenfield took a look at that claim and described it as wishful thinking hogwash.
Although Greenfield dislikes Trump and had plenty to trash Republicans on, he has been around long enough to know how easily liberals can be deceived into the smug comfort of false hope by the media.

I don't buy that premises. Kevin McCarthy just said last week that nobody is questioning the election results.

The media parades the remaining anti-Trump Republicans FRONT AND CENTER to get in our faces, to tell us that regardless of what you see happening (with Liz only being the latest), that the Old Guard is still in charge, and therefore reform of the Republican is literally impossible...so no reason to fight or even vote for them.
...and, sadly, MANY HERE, fall for it, or at least claim to fall for it.
I'm firmly of the belief that if a Republican isn't a RINO when they are elected, that they will eventually become one the longer they remain in Washington. You had people like Rand Paul, Marcia Blackburn and others, who were going to vote against certifying the election, but within hours, turned-tail, without knowing any facts about January 6th, and voted to certify. They are no better than the rest of the RINOS sitting in Congress. Gutless wonders, all of them.

I’ve been reading greenfield maybe not enough I never sensed he was a trump hater.
He’s a Democrat — an old one who hasn’t quite kept up with the party’s direction, but still a Democrat. I don’t know how personally mad he is at Trump — maybe not much — but he writes stuff like that to let his target audience know that he is one of them and to keep getting invited to their parties.

Shedding a corrupt elite leadership is what is happening. There is no civil war between camps at the voter level. Now, the Democrats, that’s another matter. As Biden dissolves into protoplasm, more and more what we used to call moderate Democrats are wondering what the hell is going on? If the Leftist extremists are preparing for another “Summer of Love”, the break will be clear, irreparable, and the chasm will widen.
