Born in 1952 - I would ride my one speed Columbia bike 2 miles to Tuffley’s Market in Des Moines, Washington to spend my weekly 50 cent allowance - going slow so my little brother could keep up.

Diet colas aren’t particularly sweet which I like and sugar is a no go for me anyway. I skip caffeine after the morning.

Wonder if they went High Fructose Corn Syrup as well?
Having been in the Great White North for forty years, I've not seen RC in quite a while.

RC Cola is the best formula in the business. It’s made by Cott these days, and yes, Sam’s Cola is the RC Cola formula made by Cott. That’s why it stands up so well against Coke.

It might also be educational to find out who is making Sam’s Cola for Wal-Mart. Not Coke, I hope? Remember; the Walton empire is no longer being run by Sam Walton. Last I heard it was some affirmative action wild-eyed radical commie woman who hates America as-founded.

Sam’s Diet Root Beer is fantastic. I also buy Samn’s Cola.
At 68 cents a 2 liter bottle you can’t beat it

I don’t drink Coke, but is Sam’s made in China? How about the plastic bottles it’s in?

Sweeter, and I find the carbonation bubbles are much finer (smaller) in Pepsi.

As kids in Rochester, NY, we drank Nehi cola, and their flavored sodas...grape, cherry, Ma's Rootbeer, and the original Orange Crush in the brown bottle that had the pulp in it. Then when they came out with the 16 ounce bottles of cola, it was RC Cola. We paid 15 cents originally, then they added a penny tax. I've been a Pepsi drinker for many years. When I was diagnosed with Type II diabetes back in 2000, I moved to Diet Pepsi. I've since moved to their Caffeine-free Diet Pepsi. I try to limit my caffeine intake to two cups of coffee a day, and I actually like the taste of no caffeine better.
I love Cream soda. A&W makes a diet Cream soda in a 16 ounce bottle, but the one pizza joint I used to buy them from, only carries the regular Cream soda now. I think Sam's makes a diet Cream soda in the can, but I don't buy any soda in cans...only 16 ounce plastic six packs.

“IMO, none of the ‘cola’ drinks taste like they used to when I was growing up”
I’ve thought that too, but maybe it’s because our taste sensors have changed. But as someone else said, maybe it’s because they’ve changed the recipe.
I’ve heard that there’s a Mexican version of Coke (or a cola) that still uses cane sugar and tastes better.

"Water?"
There's water in Caffeine-Free Diet Pepsi, and the two lousy cups of coffee I have each morning. Probably healthier water than what comes out of the tap here.

I’ve been drinking Sam’s diet cola for years. To me their Zero colas are good, too, but frequently out of stock for some reason.

Then again I’ve never done a direct taste comparison. But I can drink either Coke or Pepsi and I’ve never noticed a difference.
