LIVE: Chauvin Trial Day 9 – State’s Evidence Begins to Align with the Defense Narrative of Innocence
Legal Insurrection ^ | April 8, 2021 | Andrew Branca

Posted on 04/08/2021 3:07:59 PM PDT by CheshireTheCat

...[E]ventually the state ran out of sobbing and crying bystander witnesses, and the prosecution’s narrative was obliged to begin talking about facts. And the apparent trend to my eye is that the more the state talks about facts, the more their narrative of guilt begins to closely resemble the defense narrative of innocence.

From the state’s telling, fentanyl had nothing substantive to do with Floyd’s death. Sure, Floyd was an addict, but that wasn’t a factor to which we should attribute his death, but merely another reason to sympathize with the struggling Floyd, who was after all still a loved human being despite his addictions. Don’t pay any attention to the drug narrative, that’s not what killed Floyd!

Rather, what killed Floyd was Derek Chauvin’s “blood choke” knee to Floyd’s neck. Or maybe it was a respiratory choke delivered by Chauvin’s knee to Floyd’s neck. Or maybe it was mechanical asphyxiation resulting from the pressure applied by all three officers holding Floyd prone. Or maybe it was positional asphyxia because they failed to put Floyd in the recovery position. Or maybe it was that the officers should have started chest compressions on the handcuffed, huge, and just-violent Floyd before EMS showed up. Or maybe, or maybe, or maybe … Does it really matter. Chauvin’s knee!!! Excessive force!!! Not a trained technique!!!

Unfortunately for the state, many of its own witnesses, especially its use-of-force and medical witnesses, whether existing MPD trainers or well-paid expert witnesses from out of town, have testified in ways that substantively undercut that narrative of the state...

Scott Adams today said, and I don't know how much was tongue-in-cheek versus an actual likely scenario from how things sound, that the defense is going to call some of the prosecution's expert witnesses as defense witnesses. That is how bad things are going for the prosecution, according to him.

He also speculated that Chauvin might have a case for malicious prosecution.

I’m just wondering, were any of the “witnesses” impeached as actually NOT BEING THERE? That seems to be common place on the left.

Defense narrative. MSN sure knows how to show bias and direct emotion by choice of language, since the word narrative generally has a negative connotation with deception

Truth is there were never any grounds for a murder charge in any degree, here.

The outcome has always been that there will be burning, looting and killing. The US government has the blood on it’s hands along with the lying media who loves the death and destruction.

The black population needs to take an inward look at themselves and stand up for doing the right thing. But why should they when they can rob stores for free stuff and suffer no penalty? They don’t really care about Floyd.

The US has become a disgrace.

Once acquitted, how does Derek Chauvin get his life back after it has been torn apart by the enraged mob?

This Andrew Branca is pretty impressive, but this was obviously written before the two defense witnesses today, who were pretty impressive and devastating to Chauvin. It will be interesting to read Branca's take in his next piece.

FTR, I am still in the 'undecided' camp, and will stay that way till the end of the trial, after the defense gets its turn, and possibly beyond, remaining glad it is not my call to make. And, I'm not able to watch the trial all the time.

Unfortunately, the jury is composed of Minneapolis leftists. A suburban or rural jury would acquit in a heartbeat. The 3 black jurors will vote on emotion, as will the white leftist women. There are probably 3 or 4 jurors who will give Chauvin a fair shake, and they know they are under pressure to convict.

Expert: Lack of oxygen killed George Floyd, not drugs

Just now reported. (American Pravda)

Chauvin is gonna walk folks. Get ready for the riots to begin with great abandonment.

It was brought out that Floyd had 90 percent blockage in one of his arteries to his heart and meth does not go very well with blocked arteries.

We must have watched a different trial. I thought both witnesses were sketchy with their facts. The second dude even quoted the original autopsy once and then said the original autopsy was wrong.

Never. Lets just hope he gets enough money to live without worry.

Wife’s a doc. We watched about an hour of it together. She was going insane. She finally had to leave the room when the one ‘expert’ said that coronary artery disease doesn’t impede blood flow.

Considering the pressure of political correctness running rampant in academia and the medical profession writ large, I hope Nelson has managed to line-up some credible rebuttal docs that have sterling CVs. I imagine there are plenty that want nothing to do with defending Chauvin irrespective of his certain innocence.

So now we’re going to give Saint Chauvin a medal? What for? Abusing an unconscious prisoner for 9 minutes?

There was a point when the first expert actually dismissed smoking as a bad thing. I’m not a doctor but I’ve seen a lot of trials and these guys were not credible.

Defense will have the original autopsy and a paid gun or two I’m guessing.

If this thing continues to go the way it is heading, the BLM Ass Kissing CEOs will be surrendering and sacrificing some Walmarts to their “peaceful”, “non-violent” BLMMER RIOTERS who knew that the FBI would only come after you if you protest on January 6th. The FIBBERS hate January 6th.

I wouldn't want that guy as MY doctor, especially if I had COVID.
He is supposed to be a lung and critical care specialist.
Probably selected to testify because he believed the BS being put out by the enemedia.

You’re referring to the comb over guy? He was very cheerful and bold until he got crossed examined and then he looked like he wilted a bit.
