The massive global effort to get COVID vaccines used plays on fears of getting the disease, despite the fact that they are experimental. Meaning that they have not gone through the rigorous, time-consuming and expensive randomized clinical trials that so many experts say is the gold standard for evaluating drugs. This absence was used by the government to condemn and block the use of generic medicines, namely hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin. Vaccine testing and regulatory approval have been rushed. Missing from nearly all information reaching the public are some key facts. The vaccines still allow the virus to stay in the body and the virus can shed and pass on to others. In other words, the virus can stay alive in the community. Moreover, all kinds of ugly side effects can and do hit some vaccinated people.

We are as careful as we can be but it seems to be very contagious. I can’t help but think a lot of infections come from things people touch, like gas pump handles, doors, etc. We never get around people unless it’s really necessary. I think I had it last March before testing was in full swing. I had typical bronchitis/sinus infection symptoms along with severe stomach and chest pain. I haven’t felt really good since. You can get it again over and over though. A friend of ours had it twice within a short period of time. She was in the hospital for a week the second time. I think the masks do help but they aren’t 100%, especially if you are around people not wearing them. That’s the main reason I don’t go places where they are not being worn. I have a very good doctor and she said “wear it”. My husband’s doctor told him not to even think about being in public without one, so we wear them.

So what numbers are you looking at? Numbers from scientists and physicians, that is, not business owners with a vested interest in getting Americans to resume their 2019 consumption patterns.

Facts not in evidence. No one has ever made a science-backed claim that 7.5 million people would die in the USA without vaccines.
7.5 million is 2% of the U.S. population. The breakdown by age strata of the population prevents any such outcome, not to mention constant improvement in outcome percentages as better therapeutics are brought on line.
Please sell your hyperbole elsewhere.

Yes, those facts are in evidence. We have had over 500,000 COVID deaths. A ‘gold standard double blind’ vaccination testing regime requires about fifteen years to complete. If you want to say that we need to wait for that ‘gold standard’ to be complete, then you’re saying that you’re willing to experience 7.5 million deaths (500,000 x 15) while you wait.

I would much rather be immune to the virus than have to rely upon treatment regimes that may or may not be effective.

Actually, the ‘masters of hysteria and fear mongering’ are those exaggerating the risks of the vaccines.
We have been pointing out the side effects and concerns that doctors are expressing, for quite a long time here.
We get all the people who don’t like what we’re passing along to others, throwing all sorts of abuse and condescending crap at us.
I love science. I’m an engineer. But there’s actualcscience and then there’s junk science, politicized science, that has agendas that are not in peoples’ best interests. Of course there’s a mountain of folks not in the know about the true intents that defned it, the useful ignorants who fight for those people and groups.

Sadly, that's only partly true. Yes, the vaccines provide very good protection against the original virus, UK variant and Brazillian mutation. Only 50-60'ish percent protection against the S. African and God knows what other variants, though..

These vaccines don’t make you immune.
We’ve been told that you can still catch and transmit the virus. That’s NOT immune.
Are you trying to claim that these so-called vaccines can confer better immunity than actually getting the disease?
No, exaggerating the risks of COVID like you are is what’s driving the lockdowns, masking, and vaccine push.
Just like the same exact number of people who died of the 1918 Spanish flu every year until 1933, right?

Treatment for the flu has come a long way over the years including anti-viral medications which can make a case of the flu much less severe and shorter lasting than before. This will likely be the case with COVID as well.
