Beautiful scenery. Especially Maureen’s hair. My old irish girlfriend was stoopid! The Irish fellas knew that and acknowledged their temper.

I recall seeing that John Wayne , Maureen O’Sullivan movie years ago in black & white. I was a fun movie to watch.
Both stars were very young and full of energy.
John Wayne was born in 1907, he was 45 when he did this movie in 1952. Maureen O’Hara. was young 32.. She was born in 1920..
I don’t know about the Quite Man, but The Quiet Man has the best fight scene of any movie, ever.
Trivia: At the film’s conclusion, after the credits, we see Kate and Sean standing in their garden waving good-bye. Maureen O’Hara turns to John Wayne and whispers something in his ear, evoking a priceless reaction from Wayne. What was said was known only to O’Hara, Wayne and director John Ford. In exchange for saying this unscripted bit of text, O’Hara insisted that the exact line never be disclosed by any involved parties. In her memoirs she says that she refused to say the line at first as she “couldn’t possibly say that to Duke”, but Ford insisted, claiming he needed a genuine shock reaction from Wayne. The line remains a mystery to this day.

Yeah, the wind usually comes out that side, if I bend over a little, or pull on a heavy door... geriatricity, you know I love it.
I’ve not seen it in some time, pretty sure it’s around here on disk, or maybe tape. I particularly like that about a quarter of the movie is a fistfight, okay, the length is probably an exaggeration, but it’s a great one.
For perhaps some reason, this Crosby Stills Nash sailing song is on my mind.
