Kristi Noem for President? Not So Fast.

Governor of South Dakota Kristi Noem made headlines in 2020 for keeping her state open during the COVID-19 outbreak and opposing Faucian dictates about masks, stay-at-home orders, and church closures. To this, conservatives applauded — and rightly so. But does holding the line during a pandemic in a state with less than 900 thousand people — about the size of Charlotte, North Carolina — now warrant the frenetic swell of support for Noem among conservatives to be the next vice president or even president?

I think the successor to Trump is either DeSantis, Pompeo or Rand Paul.

I’m through with tribal people, as they ALWAYS go with the tribe, when it comes to the tribe versus conservatives - now matter how wonderful they first appear.

At that point, I’ll only support them if given no other choice.

The lazy sexism of “oh, a female governor—and from a small state at that!”, so she can’t be considered for prez or veep is disgusting. (Seems to be an obsession of yours of late, Dirty.)

She also has an extensive record in Congress. If she’s not as good a candidate as others we’ve got, give at least substantive reasons.

Bonus hint: Palin wasn’t pilloried because she was a small state guv, but because she her family hit repeated “trashy” cliches and because she repeatedly quit without completing her term in office.

Pompeo is too fat. Plays into the hands of the ‘too white/male’ lefties. Paul is too whacko but may have to leave the senate as government is beneath these types. DeSantis needs to keep doing what he’s doing and not get fat like Pompeo.

Noem-her ‘substantive’ record in congress is pointed out in the article.

Palin’s place is in the senate and she won’t play. For us to win the leaders have to lead and if she stays on the sideline it will give reason to those that have given up.

“I’m through with tribal people, as they ALWAYS go with the tribe, when it comes to the tribe versus conservatives - now matter how wonderful they first appear.”

For those who may not know what ‘tribal’ means in this context, have a look (and I didn’t even need to read the article to know she’d go tribal on us):

“The bill introduced by Noem in the 115th Congress was H.R. 2484 — Women, Peace, and Security Act of 2017, an issue previously advocated by the Obama administration.”

I haven't seen anything in Noem's record that would scare me away from her, even though I don't see her as a front-runner for 2024. I see her as an ideal running mate for either Trump (if he runs) or Desantis (if Trump doesn't run).

I would point out a few things there:

1. Take a good hard look at some of those allegedly "conservative" groups that are rating these legislators. Any group that gave Justin Amash a 99% rating has an agenda that probably isn't going to win elections in the U.S. That dope voted to impeach President Trump in 2019, left the Republican Party, and refused to run for re-election in 2020 because he couldn't have won against a pile of dog crap. He's an open-borders globalist whose agenda is fine for these so-called "conservative" groups that do a great job of pissing a lot of American voters off.

2. When it comes to a sitting governor, I don't pay much attention to that person's prior track record as a legislator when considering him or her as a presidential candidate. One reason why House members and U.S. Senators tend to be awful political candidates is that the votes they cast when representing one district or state are often at odds with a position they would take on behalf of the nation as a whole.

3. Don't diminish Noem's COVID response, no matter how small her state may be. She stood head and shoulders even above other governors -- including Desantis -- who were far too quick to sacrifice freedom at the altar of some vague, undefined vision of "safety." If Desantis didn't have other great qualities as a candidate and wasn't much better than most of his peers in this regard, I'd consider his COVID response to be a total disqualifying characteristic for higher office.

“I think the successor to Trump is either DeSantis, Pompeo or Rand Paul.”

I think the successors to Trump will be democrats...in perpetuity. There will be no more unstolen elections.

I love Palin, I think she would make a great senator and would stick to her core beliefs.

Unfortunately, (and yes it matters in the political world), her tone and mannerisms when she speaks come off as condescending and sarcastic....even though that is not her intent.

Mike Pompeo's political resume reads like a classic "Deep State" operative.

Former Secretary of State and Director of the CIA? No. Effing. Way.

A U.S. Senator is NOT a leader. That’s probably what keeps Palin on the sidelines.

She has had a lot more executive experience then Obama, Biden, and Harris put together before they entered the White House.

” I see her as an ideal running mate for either Trump (if he runs) or Desantis (if Trump doesn’t run).” Dan Quayle checked all the boxes.

“A U.S. Senator is NOT a leader.” They throw rocks. Effective for the rats.

“I think the successors to Trump will be democrats...in perpetuity. “

So? JUst like the rest of those gutless losers on FR who started crying after Nov 5 while Trump was fighting til the very end, do us a favor and just off yourselves and take your debbie downer attitude to DU. They’ll gladly take you in. WE’ll do the fighting while you buckle up with your knees to your face.

VP would be OK. The real question in my mind is not whether she’s qualified but rather whether a VP from SD would contribute to a victory. Normally I’d say no but she’s also a woman and that might help balance the ticket demographically, if not geographically.

If that is the case, then armed Revolution is the only way to restore democracy. Are you prepared for that?

You’re an idiot. But keep on voting because “fighting”...or something.

There’s only one way free and fair elections will ever return to this country...and I expect you’ll be the one hugging your knees while the real fight goes on.
