Masks will continue to sell as long as people are buying them. As more people get vaccinated, mask hysteria compliance will decrease. Pretty soon only medical professionals and dedicated Karens will wear the masks, and eventually most state will drop the mandate.
Very suspicious of the “studies” that demonstrated the value of wearing masks. Modern science unfortunately has been corrupted by grant seeking phonies who publish narrative compliant articles in jounals controlled by not very critical editors and publishers that adhere to the narrative. I went to the CDC to read the actual report. And this headline is the opposite of what the report says. The CDC does state that masks work—but the statistical evidence shown is very weak. The margins of error show that the positive effect is quite minimal.
I have one mask in the car. I put it on when I must enter a place that requires one and take it off as soon as I am outside.
I once worked in a hospital and every so often had to enter a room that was in ISOLATION. The paper shoe covering, paper gown, paper hat and mask. When I left the room all of that went into a red hazardous material can (to be burned).
If this virus is so deadly, where are all the red hazardous material cans to put the used mask in? They don’t exist. Matter of fact I am seeing a lot of mask just tossed on the ground.
Thus proving conclusively that wearing masks is not about controlling Covid. It is about controlling people.

Properly wearing masks in short specific circumstances helps prevent the spread of disease.
Among other things:
Most people don’t wear their masks properly, nor take them off properly. Mask mandates push people to wear them for too long and towards compromise of what little gain comes from the mask. Even wearing a mask, there are many ways to negate the benefits.
The CDC is not staffed with clinicians. They are run entirely by polidiots.

Best method is to follow people around, with and without masks, and find out how many get it and spread it. Nothing else could be better. This study didn’t do it.
But the DANMASK-19 study did, 6,000 people. Results? No statistical benefit from wearing masks. Game over.
One would need to be able to examine the methodology to be sure, but if the reported p-values are accurate, they indicate a statistically significant finding. Note however that statistical significance is not the same as practical significance. With a high enough sample size, even trivial differences can reach statistical significance, which appears to be the case here.There also is a potential problem with the design which appears to report multiple t-tests on the same samples. This can result in alpha slippage, undermining the significance of the results.
