The Intercept is reporting on something CTH predicted after the 2020 election, Mitch McConnell is working with Kentucky legislature to plan his departure before the end of his term.
This is not a surprise. McConnell is fully exposed now; people can finally see through his schemes and understand his motives and maneuvers.
(Via The Intercept) Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell has compiled a short list of successors in his home state of Kentucky, preparing for the possibility that he does not serve out his full term, Kentucky Republicans tell The Intercept.
The list is topped by his protégé, state Attorney General Daniel Cameron, and also includes former United Nations Ambassador Kelly Craft, whose billionaire coal magnate husband is a major McConnell donor, as well as Kentucky Secretary of State Michael Adams, a former McConnell Scholar.
Under current law, the power to appoint McConnell’s replacement falls to Democratic Gov. Andy Beshear. But new legislation McConnell is pushing in the Kentucky General Assembly would strip the governor of that power and put it into the hands of the state GOP. (read more)

His wife is in hot water.
If McConnell had supported President Trump, he would still be majority leader in the senate and the country would be continuing to head in a positive direction. Instead he was a snake and worked against President Trump in almost everything.
If the Republicans win back the majority in 2022, I’ll bet he stays. If they don’t, he’ll quit before the new year.
He should have retired instead of running again in 2020.
He just won 6 more years.
Beshear owns the state supreme court. I don’t know that it would end up in the federal system.

She bailed out of the Dept. of Transportation a few steps ahead of the law which was investigating her for using staff to promote her father’s Commie Chinese shipping business. When she left, she said it was because she was disgusted at Trump’s incitement of the “insurrection.”
Once again and just like Louisiana. How does a state that is dominated by Republicans have a Democrat Governor?
The urban areas wait till the numbers start getting reported on Election Day and then the folks get to work.
If he can’t hold onto his power, why would he stay?
