Having solved all of the nation’s problems, Democrats have now introduced a bill that would ban former President Donald Trump from being buried at Arlington National Cemetery.

The bill – known as H.R. 484 or the No Glory For Hate Act – was introduced in late January by Rep. Linda Sanchez (D-CA).
The Act’s intent reads to “prohibit the use of Federal funds for the commemoration of certain former Presidents, and for other purposes.”
It is designed specifically to prevent “the interment or inurnment in Arlington National Cemetery of any former President that has been twice impeached by the House of Representatives.”

Only Taft and Kennedy were buried at Arlington. Many of the others were buried at their homes.

I’m not sure Trump is eligible for burial at Arlington anyway. In ground burial requires death while on active duty, retirement from the armed forces, receiving a major decoration (Medal of Honor, Silver Star, Bronze Star, or Purple Heart), or having been a POW. Even if his time as POTUS is counted as military service, he certainly didn’t serve long enough to retire from the military. He’s never been a POW or received a decoration. He’s not going to die while on active duty.
He may be eligible for above ground inurement, but only if his service as POTUS is recognized as military service. Since the intent is to have civilian control over the military, I believe that would be a stretch.
Like most of what the Dems do, this is ridiculous and a complete waste of time.
If this is hate, then where’s the love?

In the normal course of things, usually burial in Arlington is reserved for those who have served in some capacity in the armed forces of the United States, in some war setting, and if so requested, this is extended also to their spouses.
My first spouse is buried there, along with her second husband, who earned that spot because he served in Viet Nam out on the ground, with honestly earned medals. He was retired medically, with 17 years service, but for non-combat reasons (he had heart disease).
All these little cheap shots can be undone the next time the adults are in charge.

Kennedy, at least, was a veteran.
This is nothing more than a dog and pony show, put on by Democrats proving that they have no real work to do in Congress. They should go home at this poing.
When my daughter was stationed at Ft. Riley, my wife and I drove over and visited Dwight Eisenhower's burial site at his Presidential Library in Abilene, Kansas.
Though Eisenhower could have been buried at Arlington, he and Mamie decided that their final resting place would be where he grew up, in Abilene, population 6,844.
Trump is being treated like the absolutely worst possible criminal. A person who tortured, raped, killed a disabled Spanish-speaking transexual lesbian muslim with a peanut allergy would be treated better!

Most Presidents don’t get buried in Arlington. Only 2 are buried in Arlington; Taft and Kennedy.. Most get buried at their libraries. They do this so people don’t secretly piss on their graves. And thats why Kennedy has a flame on his.
That’s ok, our new leader will overturn that. Probably by a mere order by that after the counter-coup. America’s Pinochet is out there somewhere. Probably some Lt. Col nobody has ever heard of before right now.
Pretty much most Presidents have a life to return to. Most are not like Clinton or Obama and have only lived their life in government housing and have no life to return to.
