“If he really wants to assign blame for the 2020 election fiasco he should place it squarely where it belongs: on the state GOP officials and legislators in most of those swing states”

Without those states sending dual electoral slates. We had no way to get the election thrown into the House of Representatives.

We have norms, historical precedent, and tradition in the way we conduct are elections. Pence only had one choice to stay connected with Trump and that was to resign before the vote.

If he opened the “can of worms” on doing non traditional objections. Our elections will be even more of a farce.

Imagine a Republican landslide(35+ states) in 2032 and some Democrat VP, wastes a month sending electoral votes back to a variety of states.

That’s exactly right. Ignore the nitwits on this thread who apparently think the sitting VP has the authority to arbitrarily select the next President regardless of how the electoral votes are cast.

Those state legislatures are full of ambitious and climbing career politicians. All Pence and the national GOP had to do was send word down that their careers are over if they do not perform their constitutionally mandated duties. The GOP (Pence, Senate, etc.) did no such thing because they wanted Trump gone. It’s that simple.
