Logically, though, any type of "counter-attack" would not be in force, and certainly not be on DC. I think the Left has been watching too much television.
Awfully strange situation.
Any sort of attack anywhere will be met with a tremendous push to grab the guns.
It’s what the left is desperately trying to provoke so they have justification to do what they want to.

Traditionally, at some point in a coup-d’etat, one has to seize control of the Capital City and the Government buildings.
However, if I —hypothetically speaking, of course — wanted to grab Washington, and I had and had proved that I had about a million followers who would assemble at my call, I would not attack the Federal Triangle downtown. I’d take control of the Washington Beltway, for a start. Everything and everyone going into or out of Washington has to cross the Beltway, and there are only a limited number of places where this can be done on the ground. Moreover, the first steps to controlling the Beltway can be taken peacefully and legally. Any response in force by whomever thinks they are in charge would be what disrupts the traffic into/out of the city; the Maryland, Virginia, Metropolitan and Federal authorities would be the ones who violently cut-off DC from the rest of the country. Then, I fear, it would not stay peaceful for long. But they would have started it, for whatever that’s worth.
