A friend wants to sell his gold and silver coins. He lives an hour west of Memphis.
Would anyone know a decent place, it may not be local, to sell them?
Any help would be appreciated.

Why is he selling? If out of need, plenty of places.

I believe the gold coins are Krugerrands, held for a few decades.
I will ask for clarification. Thanks!

Please do not sell precious metals on eBay; that is not something a hobbyist should ever do. There are so many ways for a buyer to rip off a seller it is insane. (And conversely it’s a pretty good place to buy precious metals, as it’s really hard for a seller to actually rip off a buyer.)

Yeah, eBay, if you want to maximize price and minimize risk of selling them thru craigslist etc..
I wouldn’t sell now though. Your friend might need them later, the way things are going (unless he is going to invest in the other precious metals, brass, lead, copper, steel tubes with spiral grooves, or storable foods. etc

He lives an hour west of Memphis. Can you be more specific? GPS coordinates, safe combination, alarm code, work schedule, number of dogs on property? That will help narrow it down.

for something like this you can still sell on craigslist
do the meetup at a local police station

An hour west of Memphis i rode on horseback. Bout 12 miles. Came across a real Memphis BBQ cookout going on. Little did I know about the ribs out back and the kruggerands in the attic. They had lots of sauce.

Good point for first time ebay’rs. Due diligence and keep the value small. It has been a number of years since I traded on ebay and like everything else, times have changed.

Folks, I was not aware of that site. I will have him get a quote from Apmex.com
Thank you!

I suggest if he does sell them, not to transport via car (especially long distance and/or across state lines). I can imagine there being a risk of "civil forfeiture".
