A crazy scene unfolded on Friday night in Vancouver, Washington, as a large crowd formed to support a woman who says that her mother was the victim of “medical kidnapping.” The media rushed to portray the crowd as wild anti-vaxxers — without telling the story of what happened or why they were actually there.

The hospital was executing good judgment to protect the safety of all the patients and staff by requiring some screening.
The COVID quick test comes back in 15 minutes, they weren’t denying access after a clean screening......
The test is just a simple nose swap...

They didn’t want or need a test. She was briefly there for a UTI and needed fluids. Her doctor said she was to be released and her daughter, the medical power of attorney, wanted to take her. A Covid test is not legally required for her to be released.
She was solidly within her rights to demand immediate release.
And her story hasn’t changed even once. It’s all in video. The hospital has zero authority to require a Covid test as a condition of release.
Hospitals get away with this kind of thing all the time.
You must not have even read the story. They weren’t denying the daughter access for refusing a test. They were refusing to repress the mom unless she took one despite doctors orders and per medical of attorney orders.
All they had to do was have daughter sign a release “against medical advice”.
Easy... except for nazis drunk in power.

My dad took my mom out of a nursing home years ago - they wanted him to sign something that he knew it was “against medical advice” - he signed NOTHING.

After ready this travesty I thought, who would support the hospital/authorities on this? Unfortunately only a few replies in I see someone in support of holding a patient against their will, as well as trying to force said patient down a medical path without consent.
I thought man I would never share a foxhole with someone who thought this way. Then it dawned on me, no worry about sharing a foxhole as anyone condoning the hospitals actions would be on the other side of no mans land from me.
