Ah, yes. They get to decide what is free speech. But wait, they’re just a platform aren’t they?
Isn’t the act by a company to try to destroy the capacity of a competitor considered trying to create a monopoly?
A monopoly is defined by Black’s Law Dictionary as:
“A privilege or peculiar advantage vested in one or more persons or companies, consisting in the exclusive right (or power) to carry on a particular business or trade, manufacture a particular article, or control the sale of the whole supply of a particular commodity.”
What they are selling, and their sponsors pay for them, are opinions along with products. But the act of selling them acting as a wholesaler/retailer in the second party, still makes them responsible for what they are selling. And by having a price schedule for ads, they are part of the sales transaction. So trying to delete their competition, they are creating a monopoly and violating the Sherman Antitrust Act. People think the internet is freedom of the airway. It is, but the business side of the internet is not and is responsible for the laws everyone else is. Free speech and opinion has nothing to do with a business transaction.
But I’ll bet my life savings no one will try to stop them because the libs have too much invested in them and the conservatives are gutless. They wouldn’t back a sitting president who did more for the financial and protective parts of government than any in our history, allowed him to be impeached for nothing, then are allowing him to be impeached again for nothing to make sure he can’t run in 2024 to bail us out again after four years of the idiocy and lies that are coming.
