It’s Carnage Out There for Fox News
DB Daily Update ^ | David Blackmon

Posted on 12/27/2020 5:37:52 AM PST by EyesOfTX

It’s carnage out there for Fox News. – Since the moment Fox News decided to issue a premature call of Arizona for China Joe Potato Head Biden on Election Night, the cable news channel has seen its ratings take a massive slide. As Daily Wire reports, “Between the dates of November 2nd and November 11th, viewership dropped by 40% for Neil Cavuto, 40% for Bret Baier — who hosted one of the presidential debates between Trump and Biden — 40% for Martha MacCallum, 36% for Laura Ingraham, 33% for Sean Hannity, and 29% for Tucker Carlson.”

Yes, Fox remains the #1-ranked cable news channel, but that’s only because CNN and MSNBC have voluntarily discarded most of their own audiences over the past decade in order to promote the political agenda of the radical left, i.e., the Democrat Party. And let’s face it: When your flagship hard evening news report hosted by Bret Baier bleeds 40% of its viewership in a little over a week, and your biggest prime time star is down by almost 30%, you have a problem.

It’s a problem that has many of the remaining hands at Fox worried, according to former anchor of “The Five” Eric Bolling. Bolling told Daily Wire that his conversations with his friends at Fox convinces him that there is a great deal of fear haunting the fake news channel’s halls these days:

“Here’s what happened guys, let’s be honest with you… on November 3rd — Fox declared Biden the winner in Arizona. MAGA-world went ballistic, they said ‘I’m not watching Fox News,’ they switched over and they looked and they found Newsmax,” Bolling said.

Bolling then sparked rapturous applause among the TPUSA event attendees when he said that “Fox lost about 40% of their audience. 40%. That’s a big number.” In recent weeks, Fox has disputed such claims, pointing out that while some programs have dropped a third of their viewers since election night, they still still atop the cable news ratings.

“I have friends still there that say they are very, very nervous about it, they’re sucking wind on it and they don’t know how to turn it around.”

[End]

The truth about Fox is that they did it to themselves. I personally think the channel’s inevitable decline started with the decision to bring Paul Ryan onto its board of directors. The inevitable anti-Trump tilt he has brought to the operation is palpable, especially in Fox’s daytime programming. In the midst of its record ratings of the past five years, Fox’s management lost sight of what was driving those ratings.

The hiring of old Clinton hack Donna Brazile – who got caught feeding Hillary Clinton debate questions during the 2016 campaign – as a paid contributor in 2019 – a decision no doubt driven and approved by Ryan – only served to exacerbate the situation and ensure the channel’s inevitable decline. During 2020, Neil Cavuto and other daytime hosts embarked on a decidedly leftward tilt to the conduct of their shows, and the previously stellar “The Five” became increasingly unwatchable due to the radicalization of Juan Williams. Top that all of with Chris Wallace’s doing a tag team on President Trump with Joe Biden as he “moderated” the first presidential debate, and you have the makings of a mass audience exodus.

Trump supporters had been looking for the first excuse to jump ship over to OANN or Newsmax, and the absurdly premature call of Arizona on Election Night – a call made while some Arizonans still stood in lines waiting to vote – triggered the exodus. And now, Bolling’s friends at the network are all worried about their future and have no idea how to fix the problem.

Well, it’s a problem that can’t be fixed. That’s the deal: Fox News management intentionally and with malice aforethought made a series of programming decisions that were consciously designed to divorce the channel from the Trump support base. That is reality and it is obvious to anyone paying any attention at all.

That divorce is now final and there will be no reconciliation – this is not some Hallmark holiday movie with a happy ending.

That is all.

“ This was Three Hundred Thousand with NO WAY for biden to catch up.”

They were waiting for the 300,000+ plus dump they had been promised and that they saw in the other swing states. The so-called red mirage and blue wave.

“Chris “I didn’t get my ass kicked enough when I was a kid” Wallace”

You got that right. We knew how to “correct” snotty little weasels like that when I was a kid...didn’t take long before they got their mind right either.

Trump was way ahead in FL and the only votes outstanding were in the panhandle of the state. That’s big Trump country. FNC held back because their Never Trumpers didn’t want to give him an early victory. It’s as blatant you can get but they have no shame.

“this is not some Hallmark holiday movie with a happy ending”

Hallmark is another channel that won’t be watched since they’ve gone full LGBTQ.

Being in opposition rises viewership and income.
Maybe they calculated that with Sleepy Joe in charge, they will get more money!
I remember, when Slick Willie was elected, they wrote Rush out, but he really took off then. Willie and Bama made Rush lot of money.
So Fox was maybe hoping for similar windfall. I think they made mistake.

Who hired Arnon Mishkin? That is the the question.

Mishkin is a communist Chinese agent. Whomever hired Mishkin at FoxNews is a traitor. Mishkin was 100% complicit in the election fraud. Why hasn’t he been arrested? Make him talk!
