Democrat Tulsi Gabbard is making news on two fronts, introducing a ‘born alive’ amendment that protects infants who survive abortion, and bringing forth legislation that would prevent biological males from competing in women’s sports.
Gabbard, a former candidate for President, is sure to ruffle some feathers within her own party on both matters.
Her first effort regarding infants would amend U.S. criminal code “to ensure a health care practitioner exercises the proper degree of care in the case of a child who survives an abortion or attempted abortion.”
It seems like common sense to administer medical care to a child in need, but six Democrats running for President, among others, actually voted against a similar measure in 2019.
President Trump excoriated those who opposed it at the time.
“Senate Democrats just voted against legislation to prevent the killing of newborn infant children. The Democrat position on abortion is now so extreme that they don’t mind executing babies AFTER birth,” he tweeted.
“This will be remembered as one of the most shocking votes in the history of Congress. If there is one thing we should all agree on, it’s protecting the lives of innocent babies,” the President continued.

Also putting her firmly on the side of the President and his Republican Party, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (HI) introduced a bill to Congress which would force Title IX to be applied based on whether a person’s assigned female at birth.
In other words, stop taking opportunities away from female athletes by allowing biological males to compete in their sports or on their level.

Two months ago, Trump signed an executive order that would “ensure that all precious babies born alive, no matter their circumstances, receive the medical care that they deserve.”

Is Tulsi Gabbard Ready to Switch to the Republican Party Yet?

“Title IX is being weakened by some states who are misinterpreting Title IX, creating uncertainty, undue hardship and lost opportunities for female athletes,” Gabbard said in a statement.
“Our legislation protects Title IX’s original intent which was based on the general biological distinction between men and women athletes based on sex.”
Title IX protects people from discrimination based on sex in education programs or activities that receive Federal financial assistance.
In May, the Trump administration gave backing to a law in Idaho that banned trans athletes from women’s sports.
“Equal Protection Clause does not require States to abandon their efforts to provide biological women with equal opportunity to compete for, and enjoy the life-long benefits that flow from, participation in school athletics in order to accommodate the team preferences of transgender athletes,” the DOJ wrote in a court filing regarding a suit challenging the law.

Tulsi’s History of Leaning Right
If Mitt Romney is a RINO – and he is – then surely one could consider Tulsi Gabbard’s recent history to be that of a ‘DINO – Democrat In Name Only.’
And that is a good thing.
To be sure, she still holds some objectionable views on the Second Amendment. But her recent actions have her trending further to the right and drifting further away from the Democrat party.
Last week, Gabbard offered praise for a Supreme Court decision blocking New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s efforts to limit religious gatherings during the pandemic.

Gabbard made a recent appeal for President Trump to pardon Edward Snowden and Julian Assange while launching an attack on the ‘deep state.’

She hammered Netflix, charging they were complicit in child sex trafficking for distributing the French award-winning film Cuties.

Tulsi Gabbard helped temporarily derail the presidential campaign of Democrat Kamala Harris by focusing on her controversial career as a prosecutor.
She blasted Harris as being responsible for putting “over 1,500 people in jail for marijuana violations and then laughed about it when she was asked if she ever smoked marijuana.”

And of course, she was called out as a Russian asset by Hillary Clinton which, with Hillary’s record, means you’re actually a great American patriot.
“I have dedicated my entire adult life to serving our country,” Gabbard fired back at the allegations.
“For Hillary Clinton and her powerful allies to attempt to smear me and accuse me – really implying that I’m a traitor to the country that I love – is something that I cannot allow to go unchecked.”

Gabbard did not seek reelection to Congress in 2020 and her seat will be filled by Kai Kahele representing Hawaii’s 2nd Congressional district.
Tulsi Gabbard should get back in the political fray and run as a Republican – in the party where she rightly belongs.

You have an interesting perspective on this. Many dems do not go with the hard left commie hate America game.
It would be nice if the dems would go back to a Truman/Kennedy type party while the pubs evolve into a patriot party similar to the Eisenhower/Nixon/Reagan years with Trump’s ability to push back.
It would then be a two party system again. I could at least stomach Tulsi on the other side, but would never vote for her.
