What’s new? They never stand up.

Of course they have... the only fighter among them was Trump and they refuse to do anything about the massive and flagrant fraud that was this “election” they are done.

Will lose millions from their dependable base... because If it’s all a fraud and scam anyway. Why bother...

The GOP’s silence on this is suicide

I hear they are “leading from behind”.

Really, they don’t care about us or the US, all they care about is themselves. I really hope Trump creates the MAGA Party and burns the GOP to the ground.

How many threads do we have on FR complaining about the blizzard of internet rumors of imminent boom and doom ... but then nothing happens. This has been going on for three weeks. What we have are a plethora of eyewitness accounts of suspicious and, in many instances, illegal conduct, but on a small scale. At the other end of the scale, there are large statistical anomalies that should be explained.

In between, there is a distinct lack of anything conclusively making the connection. We are assured six times a day that the kraken is about to appear, or that the statistical chicanery with election software is about to be definitively established, or whatever.

At the same time, the messaging is all over the place. Trump's twitter feed remains an unguided cannon. Sidney Powell is off in direction. Lin Woods is off in another. Patrick Byrne sounds impressive, but doesn't close the deal. Rudi shows up regularly doing something, but it's not entirely clear what.

The point is, right now we have lots of smoke and not much fire.

The question asked here is where are the Republican officeholders in all this? Most of them, I imagine, are looking at this big bowl of jello and not seeing anywhere solid to make a stand. On which internet rumor would you bet the mortgage? The probability of being made to look a total fool is high enough to give any serious politician pause -- especially after four years of Trump's erratic zig-zagging on one issue after another. A lot of those bodies you see out there littering yon fruited plain are Trump supporters and, in many cases, appointees with arrows in their backs, because they were not as adept as Trump at changing course and were mowed down by friendly fire. The level of fratricide in the administration has been astonishing.

I don't want to debate all the above; this is simply where we are. Now contrast this with 2000, when Florida got a bit sticky. That lasted longer than the current mess. But there was never a hint of confusion or people working at cross purposes. Jim Baker was in charge. People like Boyden Gray and Ted Olsen guarded the flanks and GWB had their backs. The Bush campaign, the RNC, and state and local Republicans at all levels read from the same script. Republican officeholders stood to their guns and fought the good fight.

They would do the same thing today if there was clear leadership and guidance. What they don't want to do is to go charging off after internet rumors waiting for the kraken to show up. In terms of presence and delivery, the two people who project an aura of actually having something of substance to say are, at this point, Patrick Byrne and Sidney Powell. They are both freelancers with no formal standing with the campaign, and both of them are still presenting hypotheses about statistical anomalies without presenting anything that would hold up in court.

Hark! BOOM!! The kraken lurks!!! GatewayPundit has another headline!!!! If I were a Republican politico putting my career on the line, I'd want more, and they're not getting it from the campaign.

Basically the GOP establishment is playing the part of the Mayor of Calumet, Colorado (played by Lane Smith) in the original Red Dawn movie.

In other words, a bunch of crouching hand lickers (Founding-era reference).
