Everything you need to know about what gun and ammo makers face.
~~~
Firearms manufacturers are certainly in the crosshairs as both the Democrat's campaign website and his stump speeches have specifically targeted the industry. So let's see what a Biden presidency might mean for gunmakers and potential sales.
Shooting through the roof
Industry observers dubbed former president Barack Obama the greatest gun salesman ever because sales soared during his administration due to fear he would enact strict gun control legislation. FBI criminal background checks more than doubled during his eight years in office, rising from 12.7 million in 2008 to over 27.5 million in 2016.
The industry went into a three-year slump following Donald Trump's upset victory four years ago. Yet in 2020, background checks are rocketing to record levels again, surpassing even the heights reached during his predecessor's administration. Through October, the FBI says the National Instant Criminal Background Check System has already performed 32.1 million investigations.
Notably, while sales began rising in early 2019, the trend markedly accelerated in March of this year as riots and civil unrest broke out across the country. The National Shooting Sports Foundation says background checks jumped 80% that month and have remained at elevated levels each month thereafter.
Not sure where you're looking, everywhere I am looking for ammo is sold out. By the time I get the email alerts that ammo is available it's gone before I even get to the site.
A Biden victory means one of two outcomes:
1) If we hold the Senate, we’ll have a good chance of getting a HUGE AMOUNT of gun control thrown out by the Supreme Court, and finally get the Second Amendment to do its intended job.
2) If we lose the Senate, then it’s simply a matter of time before we wind up with as many gun owners as Australia or Canada.
Agreed, and Democrat gun owners keep voting for Democrats, sheesh
Good luck.
My next door neighbor is a private arms dealer with high-end customers and a direct pipeline to all sorts of manufacturers domestic and foreign, and even he tells me it’s dry when I ask to place an order for practically any defensive caliber.
Thank you! That second link sure helped a lot!
The most bizarre aspect of this idea is that it will destroy our military’s supply line of weaponry. The same companies manufacture these arms.
Just purchased 2 boxes of .45 colt thanks to that website. Been sitting here refreshing it for days...
I don’t agree with the assumption that all democrats will march in lockstep toward harsh gun control. Look at Virginia, for example. Last year the democrats took over both chambers of the legislature and the governorship. One of the governor’s loudly publicized goals was to outlaw AR15 style rifles and most semiautomatics. In the end only minor restrictions were passed and the gun-confescation measures died in committee. Even the most liberal democratic representatives realized that their career would suffer an early death if they voted for that. Talking about it is one thing, voting for it is something quite different.
Lotta liberals out there own guns now. Will they be giving up that new AR they just bought for $1500?
It goes underground.
I *think* I have enough ammo, then again you know what they say: if you think you have enough, you'd better order more! :-)
In the 1920s the criminal Rum Runners were well thought of by the buying public.
Now it will be the Gun Runners bringing Liberty to the US.
Now I think of it, maybe there is a reason the teens of the 1960s, now politicians, have legalized various drugs and will soon legalize more. A stoned public is a compliant public.
If we lose the Senate, Obama had the House and Senate, then spent all his clout on Obamacare.
You’re most welcome. Multiple sources, which I’ve collected over the past 18yrs, are a good thing to have.
***There is nothing to buy now,***
I wish I had back the 400 rounds of M2 Ball I shot up this early spring.
From where I stand, that means that we no longer have a Sovereign Republic, any semblance of the Rule of Law, nor a functional Constitution. All bets are off.
This is exactly what our Founding Fathers went to war over.
Just don’t bother looking to Pierre Defecto, Ben sASSe, John “Wayne” Cornyn or Susan Collins for help or support.
Yeah, ditto that.
