You can easily save over a $1,000 per year by cutting the cable TV cord. That money can go towards many other things, including a better internet connection to stream alternative entertainment and news. Additionally you can invest your savings, put it towards a vacation, do home improvement or give it to a worthy charity.
I trade financial securities for a living. In this business we have a phrase, "FOMO", the Fear Of Missing Out. It's a psychological barrier for many traders. It makes people do things they do not want to do, because they might miss out. Trust me, you are not missing out by having cable TV. So don't fear it. Continue reading the rest of this post and invest some time into discovering alternatives to cable TV.
There really are diverse alternatives to cable TV that are chalked full of family values, excellent entertainment, rich information and conservative news. This election has shown how in the tank all major news outlets were for Corrupt Joe Biden. Nearly every sitcom, drama and series on cable and network TV is in your face, full of multiculturalism and pushing homosexual and liberal agendas. These people are not like you and you certainly don't won't to become like them. Remember you are what you eat. I'm positive that you don't have to pay for it either.
I spent part of my afternoon upgrading and streamlining my access to quality entertainment and information content. Actually, I'm not a big viewer of TV and I cut the cord to Comcrap back in February, but I figured if I took a little time I could leverage content that is free to you and me. I have a sunk investment in a smart TV which is now over 5 years old. I have to stick with to the apps that came on the TV, and they are limited, plus many of them I would have to pay to use.
One requirement for my upgrade in viewing pleasure was to watch new alternative content on the big screen. The old apps didn't give me the content that I desired, but something stuck in my mind that I could display my cell phone on my TV. This would be perfect because I frequently use apps on my phone for entertainment and news. Wouldn't you know, there was an app to display my cell phone on my TV. And when I turn my phone sideways, it displays on the TV in a wide screen perspective. Mission one accomplished: cell phone apps can be viewed on the big screen.
The second thing I wanted to accomplish this afternoon was to find apps that give me a broad spectrum of classic TV shows, movies, documentaries, reality programs and conservative news. Note: Fox News was not a requirement since I will never view them again. Here is a catalog of some FREE apps that I found (some I have already been using):
America's Voice (News)
Pluto TV (TV Shows, Movies & News)
FREE CABLE TV (TV Shows, Movies & News)
Tubi (TV Shows, Movies & News)
Plex (TV Shows & Movies)
Airy.TV (TV Shows, Movies & News)
XUMO (TV Shows, Movies & News)
HD Movies (Movies)
NewsMax (News)
The First TV (News)
Blaze TV (News)
One America News (News)
Certainly there must be more than these, but this seems to give me all I am looking for and more. If these outlets do not suffice, I can go on a browser and search for other content.
More than likely you have a smart phone, which means you can try all of these out for free. If you like great, if you don't that is fine as well, you didn't lose any money. This little experiment allows you to definitively see that you do not need cable. Wouldn't it be nice to give the shaft to your cable company that uses the money you pay them to work against your political desires? Wouldn't it be nice to see traitorous Fox News have a viewership lower than Ancient Aliens or some other crap TV show? Plus you get to save your money and put it to use for things that you believe in. So give it a try. Put some money in your pocket and put these leftists in the poor house.

You are spot on. Until July 4 of this year I had Directv for 20 years. For the last number of years FOMO kept me from ditching Directv. Honestly, I have never been a heavy TV watcher, but I got fed up with trying to find anything wholesome and without 22 minutes of ads in an hour of programing.
Four months and $450+ saved so far, it was easily the best decision. I miss nothing and have the satisfaction of knowing I am not indirectly contributing to CNN, ESPN, or anyone else.
Don’t let the FOMO shackle you.
I recently bought a replacement cable modem that was running hot with a NETGEAR Cable Modem CM1000
I stopped renting a modem from the cable company some 5 years ago.
The new modem hardly gets warm plus it loads up the webpages quicker even though my cable speed remains the same at 70mb

I watch on my ROKU connected to my tv set the free PlutoTV. This app has all kinds of great shows.
I also buy everything at Amazon so have access to the movies and tv shows with their app. I subscribe (subscribe button) to interesting free shows at Youtube and when you get the Youtube app you can watch them on the big screen. Wallace & Gromit films, Spark, Jay Leno’s Garage, Dry Bar Comedy (G rated), Free Documentry, DriveTribe, Discovery Australia, several nerd and tv film review shows. Spend some time at Youtube and subscribe and soon you will have more shows you want to watch.
I have Sling tv (orange) that I do not watch as much as I should. This is cable at $35 a month.
I just discovered that Bill O’Reilly has an 11pm show on Pluto TV. I’ll be adding that to my nightly viewing.
BKMK
Author mentioned an app he uses to connect his phone to his TV. Anyone know what app this is?
BWAHAHAHA!!!
Stop projecting.
Great list.. I’m cutting the cable.
You can't seem to carry on a normal conversation.
You can watch all the news you need on ustvgo.tv over the internet
What’s the cheapest way to get the history channel without cable?
I’m paying $155 for internet and cable tv right now and I hardly watch the tv. If I ditch the cable tv and upgrade the internet it will be $71. a month.
I want to get rid of my cable by next month. I don’t care if I have Faux News anymore.
9 hours a day (of talk radio) “that’s all we ask” is enough news for me.

We’ve had Antenna TV for over 35 years, and it’s FREE! How come more folks don’t use antennas any more?
