They say this presidential election hangs by a thread and could go either way, although unless there is some kind of revelation of self-evident voter fraud, it will likely go to Joe Biden and the Democrats.
This will return America to the situation under Obama, and similar to the situation in Canada since Justin Trudeau's first election win in 2015.
Basically, both countries have a similar dynamic. The west-central productive economic heartland is conservative and wants a pro-business government. The two coasts and other urban areas lean towards socialism and want to extend the social and political atmosphere of the cities to the national stage.
People on both sides are dug in and don't want to compromise. And there is no compromise, there's no such thing as half socialism or half freedom. You're either free or you're not free.
Since interests and economic realities are the same across the 49th parallel, there exists the potential to redivide the political map, maintaining two countries, but making one the freedom-seeking, essentially conservative heartlands, and the other whatever its own apologists would call it (in my view, the failed states and provinces of voluntary communism).
Enough is enough. This divide is permanent and will not provide any good future prospects for those trapped in the middle. Even if we get to govern occasionally, that's not enough to sustain economic growth and social integrity. The alternating forms of government will just slowly strangle what is left of the productive economy and turn the entire continent into a failed state ripe for being taken over by powerful global adversaries who are waiting for us to fall like Rome fell to the vandals.
Even if Trump somehow pulls out a win, the situation remains largely ungovernable. There will be another four years of constant obstruction of his agenda.
Why not recognize the reality and call for a congress of freedom-loving states and provinces, with shared economic interests, and tell the socialists they are now on their own, let's see how they manage without our tax dollars flowing into their treasuries.
I don't understand why people in failed Democrat (or Liberal-NDP in Canada) states and provinces then wish to saddle all of us with their failed and worthless political paradigms. They are of no use to us at all, will lead to a shutdown of our economic vitality, and turn our states and provinces into basket cases like their own.
A pox on all their houses. Let freedom ring.
The parts of Canada most likely to want association would be Alberta, Saskatchewan, the interior of BC, and possibly Manitoba -- Yukon and Northwest Territories have some potential but are influenced enough by leftist politics and substantial native demographics that they might freely reject such a concept ... it also strikes me that eastern halves of WA, OR, most of NV and parts of CA could secede and join this federation of free states.
The most logical place for a national capital of the free states would be around Kansas City or Oklahoma City. The reality is that the leftist parts of Canada would probably not join the leftists of America so there would continue to be a Canada and a USA with capital in Washington DC. I would propose the Free States of North America as the name of the new entity and go with completely redesigned emblems and anthems etc.
What we might have held close in the past has evaporated. There is no home for us in Canada or the United States, we need to make our own home and govern it ourselves. Relations between or among these various entities might be rather frosty to start, like a France Germany sort of vibe.
I know there are enormous logistical problems involved. The military of both countries are located on territory of both entities and might choose sides. The solution would be to create separate military organizations and have negotiations about who kept what. The nuclear option should go to the Free States because you don't want to have a nuclear option available to a surrogate government of the Peoples' Republic of China.
Anyone else thinking this way? I'm fed up with the social and political divide and feel like it can only get worse and worse (especially for our side because they control the schools and the media). We are lied to by powerful people on a regular basis and they despise us. So why should we prop up their failed states? Let them pay their own way if they want to engage in the occult arts of the magical green economy. It will fall like a house of cards without any productive regions left to support it.
Who is John Galt?
No. Divide America and China and/or the UN will be on our soil so fast it will make your head spin.
Alberta and Saskatchewan need to be included within the Free States of North America (FSNA).
Beat me to it.
China would LOVE us to be divided into two countries.
Secession worked so well the last time.
The only “Plan B” that would even have a chance would be full blown revolution/CWII. Our political class would never agree to separate the union into two. Our trust in our political class is how we got this point and we cannot trust them any longer.
People are content with the situation, plus many have no stomach for a CW2...
Screw giving anything away. FIGHT like the Greatest Generation.
Only plan left. It’s here.
People are not content.
WRONG. That is surrender.
That’s exactly what the leftists and communists want.
This is our country.
If we give them half the country, they will only come for our half later.
This is war. We must completely and utterly destroy them and take back our country the way our blessed Founding Fathers created it for us.
To hell with surrender.
Then I hope they are content with slavery, because that's in our their near future.
Indeed. See my other post on this thread.
So you’re smarter than everyone else and we ought to listen to you.
No, how about NO and you sit the hell down and stop pretending
that you know better than the rest of us. Homo.
And get a job.
This is never going to happen so this kind of talk is not helpful.
Unrealistic. Better just to have a shooting war and let the victors do away with the losers.
Secession may well have succeeded, if not for the use of military force to keep the southern states as part of the United States.
I’ve wondered about such issues today. If a strong secession movement took root in some state or region, would we use military force to keep such states or regions in the union today?
The treee of liberty needs to be watered from time to time. If we find the courage to do whats needed, our children will thank us for it in the future.
And the way to stop lefties from moving into the new country and taking over again is ...?
