Today it is 230 days since the institution of the infamous “Flatten the Curve.” 15 days, they told us, for 15 days/roughly 2 weeks we need to work from home, close non-essential business, cancel concerts, baby showers, bingo games, etc., yada, yada, you know “the thing” (to show my solidarity with a certain presidential candidate) in order to give hospitals a chance to gear up for huge, terrible, overwhelming waves of ‘rona patients. 15 days.
Instead, 15 days has now become 230 days. We can argue as to the exact start date of the implementation of Operation Curve Flattening. I am punctuating it from the first day I began working from home per the guidelines in my state.
Since my last post on this subject, 15 days ago, the lockdowns in Europe that were merely feared have actually come to fruition.
I don’t have much to say on the subject of where we stand on flattening the curve / returning to lockdowns in the United States because of the election on Tuesday. The election will tell a great deal of the tale. The dread virus ‘rona / need for more lockdowns talk will have to compete, I fear, with talk about whatever the equivalent of “hanging chads” will be for 2020.
However, there is some small chance that exit polls, to the extent that people answer them honestly and the media reports them honestly, will put to bed talk of lockdowns inasmuch as a strong Trump showing may be coupled with Democrats and Indies reporting that they voted for Trump to ensure no further lockdowns and because they think the dread virus ‘rona is overhyped for political advantage.
I would like for an overwhelming showing by Trump versus a strong showing to shut down the rhetoric that “we have to wait to count all the votes,” but I fear that is unrealistic, just going by my count of the Biden signs I see in my suburban enclave. The Biden signs are running four times the number of Hillary signs and Trump signs now are not running at four times the number of Trump signs in 2016. Of course, anyone who would put up a Trump sign likely has to contend with a Karen to the right or left of them.
We shall see. I’m hoping that on day 245 I can announce the retirement of this short-lived series of posts because talk of Flattening the Curve has itself been flattened.
BTW: Anyone who thinks my title for this series of threads is histrionic really needs to read the letter written to Pres. Trumpp by Cardinal Vigano the other day.

Fox has really gone way over. No different than msnbc & cnn. Every time I looked somebody was bashing anti Trump shit while the bottom of the screen reported how Trump is so far behind.

No, because after he wins, he can expose the false statistics on the dread virus ‘rona and we can discuss that, as well as the investigations into this plandemic.

Jack and Barbara tested positive for COVID in March. Jack said he experienced a sore throat and cough and Barbara was asymptomatic. He said he is feeling fine.
