Vladimir Putin: Democrats Share Russian Ideols That Gave Rise to the Communist Party
MenRec ^ | 10/25/2020 | Staff

Russian President Vladimir Putin said he is prepared to work with either man that wins the election but noted Democrats share an “ideological basis” with Russia and that those ideas are what gave rise to the Communist Party.

Putin made the comments in an interview with state-run Rossiya TV.

The Russian leader took aim at Joe Biden’s increasingly critical view of his country.

“As for the Democratic candidate, what can I say? We can hear rather sharp anti-Russian rhetoric, as well,” Putin said. “Regrettably, we have become used to this.”

“But … the Democratic Party is traditionally closer to the so-called liberal values, closer to social democratic ideas, if compared to Europe,” he continued.

“And it was from the social democratic environment that the Communist Party evolved.”

Hate to say it, but Putin is absolutely right. You can hardly discern between Democrats and Communists anymore.

Amen to that, Rusty. Now the far left moonbats will try to claim Putin is trying to help Trump get re-elected.

Putin would of course be a fool to want Trump re-elected but Democrats are so deluded as to be unable to think that far ahead.

I am not so sure, Putin is an international mob boss running the largest cartel in the world. He may not want competition from from the likes of Clinton or the Bidens ripping of his plunder.

I’m not talking about one-off symbolic gestures like sanctioning individual Russian actors, flying the rainbow flag at the US Embassy in Moscow, or lobbing missiles at an vacant Syrian air base...name something he’s done to hurt Russia on the geo-political chessboard, assuming you know what that is.

Russia's main leverage is its nuclear weaponry and energy resources. The economy of Russia is relatively small, compared with China. the US, or the European Union. If a Sino-American war broke out, Russia and Iran will ally with China. The current regime may have taken on Orthodox Christian and nationalist trappings, but note that Lenin remains in his tomb at Red Square and that Stalin is still revered for his war leadership.

Putin and Russia are not to be trusted.

Are you kidding? Lifting strangling federal regulations on the energy industry, thus making the US energy-independent for the first time in 70 years was a major kick in Putin's teeth.

Try again.

Were you under the impression that Russia was economically dependent on oil exports to the United States? Otherwise its hard to see how American energy independence has any negative geopolitical effect on Russia.

American energy independence gives OPEC less leverage, which makes the Middle East less strategically important to the United States...again not something that hurts Russia.

Having the United States take a step back on Middle East intervention because its no longer dependent on foreign oil benefits the United States, Russia and many other countries. The Abraham Accords are a good example of what can happen in that regard.

Showed Russian military has not much improved from its Chechen Wars’ debacle. In Syria a handful of Spec Forces and Kurds virtually wiped out a full battalion of Rooskie mercs.

Showed Russian military has not much improved from its Chechen Wars’ debacle.

Simply not true...Russian forces quickly kicked US trained Georgian forces butt in 2008, forced Ukraine regular forces and their fascist militias into submission in Eastern Ukraine in 2014, and turned the tide against US trained Al Qaeda terrorist forces in Syria in 2015 -2016.

In Syria a handful of Spec Forces and Kurds virtually wiped out a full battalion of Rooskie mercs.

Another neo-liberal fiction, which conveniently ignores the massive airstrikes that were called in that night from US bases in Qatar. Absent those airstrikes it is doubtful the Kurdish forces could have held their positions from advancing Assad backed militias.

-btw a lot of those so-called Russian mercs were actually Ukrainian

“Russian media outlets are reporting that the Kremlin is planning to establish a forward outpost on the Venezuelan island of La Orchila in the Caribbean Sea and base nuclear-capable Tu-160 Blackjack bombers, two of which just wrapped up a recent deployment to the country, at the site. If true, this could help bolster the embattled regime of Venezuela’s dictatorial president Nicolás Maduro and would significantly change the strategic reality in the Western Hemisphere for the United States.”
