When she was pressed she said the unnamed 14-year-old-girl never said anything like that but the bottom line is that I created and caused a very unsafe environment for the kids.

I tend to agree with you. If the text message was to Joe, he would have had a duty to report even if it his own son. But, keep the emphasis on Joe and his participation in money schemes. Wrecking Hunter will generate sympathy for Joe if this isn’t handled correctly.
I felt like the Access Hollywood tape was played so much (petty much on a loop) that it turned in Trump’s favor. It also helped that the media twisted it to sound like Trump actually did the things he talked about but it was him talking about the thing famous people got away with.
This story has nothing to do with the election.
Get evidence of bribes going to someone running for office or give it up and go home.

Joe was under any legal obligation to do anything. And even if he reported it, a comment from a crack head talking about a “14 year old girl” is pretty Vague. What would the cops do?
