The security guard hired by 9NEWS Denver, an NBC affiliate, who allegedly murdered a right-wing protester on Saturday was not licensed to be a security guard in Denver, according to the city.
Matthew Robert Dolloff, 30, was charged with first-degree murder for allegedly shooting and killing Lee Keltner, 49, a Navy veteran. Dolloff was allegedly a private security guard who was contracted through Pinkerton by 9NEWS.
The Denver Department of Excise and Licenses told CBS Denver in a statement that Dolloff is not licensed to be a security guard in the city:
We searched our records and there is no record for an active licensed security guard now or ever for an individual named Matthew Doloff or Dolloff. If he was operating as a security guard, he was in violation of the law. Administratively, a security guard operating without a license could be fined up to $999 dollars and face up to a year in jail. The company he works for is also legally responsible for making sure all their security guard employees have a license and could face administrative action against their required security guard employer license if they have security guards working without a license. We have an open administrative investigation in this case. If there is a violation of Denver rules, the security guard employer is subject to having their license show caused and there would be a public hearing to determine the status of the license going forward. This case is in the investigative portion and there has been no show cause issued.
There is also a potential criminal aspect to this.
The Denver Police Department said that investigators were unaware of whether Dolloff is personally affiliated with any political organization.
Heavy.com reported that Dollof posted left-wing content online:
Social media filled up with criticism of the news station for hiring a guard with left-wing views. A review of the social media accounts of Matthew Dolloff shows that he did post left-wing comments, unleashing an expletive against President Donald Trump and sharing Occupy Democrats and protest-related posts. He also liked posts favorable to Bernie Sanders.
Pinkerton has stated he was not hired by them. The law where he committed the political assassination requires him to have been licensed, so far no one has sound him licensed ANYWHERE.
Time people stop covering for this level of evil.
I've that and also have read they haven't made a comment yet. A KUSA anchor said he was a Pinkerton's employee..

Montoya said Saturday that police had not yet confirmed the affiliation of the victim nor the suspect.
However, after several right-wing individuals and groups claimed, without evidence, that the shooter was affiliated with antifa, Denver Police tweeted that “further investigation has determined the suspect is a private security guard with no affiliation with Antifa.”
Local TV station KUSA, whose digital site is 9News, confirmed that Dolloff had been hired through Pinkerton, a security company, by the news outlet to protect their news staff at the protest. He did not appear to be easily identifiable as a security guard based on the photos of the incident.
“It has been the practice of 9NEWS for a number of months to contract private security to accompany staff at protests,” 9News said in its report. The report also noted that one of their producers had been temporarily detained by police after the shooting but was later released.
9News did not immediately respond to BuzzFeed News’ request for comment. Pinkerton confirmed to BuzzFeed News that Dolloff was a “contractor agent” and that it provides armed services, but would not expand on Dolloff’s past work with the company citing client confidentiality.
Photos show the victim wearing a t-shirt that appears to match a bikers’ meme that reads “BLM your fucking right biker’s lives matter.”
A video taken immediately before the shooting shows the victim standing with a group of right-wing protesters who are engaging in a verbal altercation with a different man who is wearing a “Black Guns Matter” t-shirt.
Appears Denver TV9 is playing CYA over this. Denying he had any connection with Antifa. Social media posts don't suggest that.
A company is liable for the actions of their contractors as well as employees. So, Pinkerton is in it too.
I recall seeing somewhere a listing of contributions to Actblue by a Matthew Dolloff going back to at least February this year. I believe it had been verified as being the correct person.
Would be interesting to see who he listed as his employer.
Pinkerton has called him a contractor agent, saying they were not an employee. They havent completely disavowed him:
-
If that is indeed the case it still wouldnt absolve them of their responsibility for performing due diligence. in my opinion
It looks to me that the Journolist reporters are hiring people to shoot Trump supporters.
When you look like Antifa, hang out where Antifa is, confront patriots like Antifa, then murder one of them...you’re probably Antifa.
I love how they’re trying to distance him from ‘being Antifa’, yet just the other week, they allowed Biden to claim Antifa was ‘just an idea’.
...it appears they really believe it is a distinct group after all. Shock! /s
Why did NBC Denver hire him?
NBC hires gun slinger gives wink and a nod
You know how honest the media is.
Why did NBC Denver hire him
Exactly. Especially since the station is now legally liable for the security guards actions.

The conservative protester seen on video being shot and killed by a private security guard for a local news station has been identified as Lee Keltner, a U.S. veteran. The identification reportedly came via Carol Keltner, a woman who claims to be Lees mother. In a post uploaded to the Facebook group Northeast Arkansas Tea Party Group, she reportedly wrote, My son Lee was at the patriot rally today in Denver
