NBA FINALS GAME 2 RATINGS HISTORICALLY COLLAPSE; ANOTHER ALL-TIME LOW

The NBA took another L Friday.

Game 2 of the NBA Finals between the Lakers and Heat utterly collapsed with just 4.5 million viewers. The embarrassing average is down — wait for it — 68% from last year’s Game 2, which featured a team in Canada.

How bad is the number? It’s the least-watched NBA Finals game on record. Dropping even below Game 1’s 7.41, the lowest-viewed Finals opener in history.

There is no way for the media to spin this positively. Declines of this magnitude are unheard of. Then, factor in the tank-job occurring with the league’s biggest individual and team draw in the Finals — the NBA is officially a disaster.

A ship doesn’t sink for one reason, but undoubtedly, politics sit atop the historical tank.

After nearly two decades of reinventing the NBA discussion, LeBron is now a detriment to the league’s brand.

With misleading social statements, lying about putting human rights before his brand, bowing to China, refusing to comment on the shooting of two police officers, paying for fines so felons can vote (for Joe Biden), and craving celebrity worship — LeBron now alienates more viewers than he attracts.

The NBA’s new self-inflicted identity is written in ink. Millions of turned-off Americans associate the NBA with radical politics catered to only a minimal number of sports fans.

How much lower can the ratings drop? Find out tomorrow.

“A ship doesn’t sink for one reason, but undoubtedly, politics sit atop the historical tank.”

This ship can...and did...sink for one reason.

Looks like all the NBA has left is a “me” party. They can just give each other congratulatory slaps on the butt. Or do players still do that?

The pool of money for player salaries is based on a percentage of league revenue. That number is going to take a huge hit. Same for the NFL. Any player who decided to wait until the end of this season to negotiate a new contract rather than sign before COVID-19 is going to get a lesson in reality. I can see it costing them 50% of what they would have gotten if they signed earlier.

When will the players start feeling the consequences of this in their pocketbooks?

So...with this evidence, I am also supposed to believe that Joe Bite Me is leading the President by 14 points?

There is a correlation here.

OUCH!
So even with last year's finals featuring a Canadian team (the Raptors), and with lockdowns keeping millions of people at home, the NBA ratings are still down a massive 68% this year?
By the time LeBron is done, you wouldn't even piss on the NBA.

330 million Americans. 4.5 million watched. According to my abacus, that computes to 1.4%.

The player salaries are more likely to be impacted by the collapse of arena revenues than these awful TV ratings. The current national TV contract for the NBA runs through the 2024-25 season. The NBA is getting paid even if 0 people are watching these games.

The TV contracts are baked in for a few years, but they are suffering massive loses from their closed basketball courts and no live paying audiences, where they make a huge part of their money from.
Inevitability they are going to take big pay cuts. Things will turn ugly fast.
Some smart entrepreneur can start a new none woke basketball league, where the flag and national anthem are respected

But the tragic thing is, and it is tragic, due to his stance, is that he is very rich. He in the end won’t care

Is Biden leading by 14 points?
Not a chance.
The last guy that won by 14 points or higher was Ronald Reagan in 1984. That was 36 years ago
And you know what? He won 49 states in that year. That's what it took to win by 14 points or more.
Is Biden even close to winning 49 states? There is a better chance of the sun not rising again, than that happening.
