Hello - i'm stuck in CA. the politburo here has graciously allowed gyms to reopen, but muzzles are required and valve masks have been banned for being too comfortable.
i'm going to order some single-layer gauze masks off of etsy, but does anyone have any recommendations on how i can conceal the valve holes on a valve mask? (maybe by removing the valve and sewing a thin layer of gauze over it?)
Has anyone used neck gaiters and cut vents in them?
I’ve noticed a few people with clear plastic face masks, like for when using a grinder or weed whacker.
Are you planning to wear this Etsy gauze mask OVER a valve mask??
If so, can I ask why? Why not just wear the gauze mask?
I made a dozen of them, for friends/family....because the gauze is so EASY to breathe through.
Defy the edict to wear a mask. Simply don’t wear one. Stand up and be a patriot.
Do you mean clear face shields? Covering the entire face? Or, clear, plastic face masks....over their nose and mouth?
Wouldn’t the cheap disposable surgical masks meet all the requirements in CA? I haven’t had any issues with those at all. They’re simple to use and breathe in. Just toss them when you’re done. I see some people hanging them from their car rearview mirror and I wonder how many days or weeks or months they’ve been using the same dirty mask.
You don’t have to wear the mask while working out.
Lace Facemask.
I bought two masks at a local store, only because I needed them to go grocery shopping. Mine are made from some kind of fiber, which I detest, because the fibers separate, and shed. The fibers tickle my nostrils and lips. I hate them, but I refuse to spend any more money for new ones. They cost me $3 each when I got them back in March or April, and they’ll have to last.
what about this clear type?
shieldofglory.com
its comfortable, osha approved for hospitals and restaurants, and you can forget you even have it on.
there are types that cover just the mouth,
or cover the mouth and nose,
or cover the mouth, nose, and eyes. See post 10
get some neck-gaiters bro ..
I’m pretty sure that the valve mask restriction is just in the bay area. The rest of the state is fine with them (at least that’s my understanding)
If they allow neck gaiters, do they allow bandanas? That’s what I use at my gym (in Texas). Best ‘face covering’ I could come up with and still breathe.
He has to wear one because he was instructed by the nanny-state to do so. In our house, anything Gavin says, we do the opposite.
I have a solution
MOVE
Interesting. Thanks.
Seems like it would steam up...especially if wearing while working out?
I’ve seen a lot of ppl wearing the clear face shields that have a band around the forehead, or glasses arms, and are a ways away from face, but cover to below chin.
:-)
