I am what you would graciously call a website traffic geek. I have looked at Matt Drudge’s actual traffic numbers, on Quantcast, every week for the past 12 years. Quantcast is a slice of javascript code you install in the header of your website and it counts every page view and visitor. It functions almost exactly the same as Google Analytics.
Matt Drudge used to average 1 billion page views per month, as he famously used to brag. Remember those headlines from 2016 — ‘Thanks a billion!’ He ran that same headline every 30 days for the entire year.
Now in 2020 Drudge Report is getting 475 million page views per month. Though the chart only shows the past 30 days, I can attest that his traffic has been in the 450-500 million range for several months in a row.
So Matty is down 53% from his peak.
And this at a time when his traffic should be going up headed into November.
Also, always remember Drudge uses an auto-page refresh every two minutes.

Ditto. I used to check Drudge several times a day and is how I first found Free Republic over 20 years ago. It has been months since I went to his site.
Matt doesn’t own his site anymore and hasn’t for a long time.

Think CNN ratings don’t matter it’s the cause and the cause is hurt Trump and help the rats. Matt is probably just enjoying his yacht after he sold out a few years ago.
Perhaps I missed it in both of those links but neither seems to prove the assertion he doesn’t own the site. Just “well-informed” speculation which on the internet is just a farting sound.
A transaction between two private parties/companies does not have to be reported to anyone but the IRS.

I don’t believe Drudge owns the site anymore. I think a cabal of tech masters like Google secretly bought him out for big, big, big money and put him under strict nda to keep his mouth shut. They want and are using it to affect the reelection.

I would bet double or triple that. It’s the most valuable property on the internet.
And likely with a clause that prevents Matt from disclosing the transaction, his exclusion from content and preventing him from using his name on any other internet property for some period of time.
I would guess 24 months, minimum.

I can only surmise it is not a result of professional achievement and standards, but because Kristin works there now.
GP is deceptively sensationalist, and usually only adds a layer of hyperbole to something more soundly reported elsewhere.
Drudge still owns the drudge report.
He never liked Trump but had a weird homo crush on Jared Kushner. The Trump support was only because of Drudge’s crush on Kushner.
And I think Drudge turned because of deep state blackmail over his foreign travels.
