Prayers up for you, your neighbors, and Bugs. My wife and I went through this in 2012 - a lightning strike started a house fire and claimed almost everything, including our two sorely missed Dachshunds. We literally spent our first night with nothing much but the clothes on our backs. Check with the American Red Cross. I know some people here give them guff about how they've conducted themselves over this or that, but they were right there for us before the house stopped smoking. Literally. They put us up in a motel for five days, and gave us toiletry kits with toothbrushes, deodorant, etc. And check your church. Or any church. You'll find a lot of good people there, ones you don't even know, who will donate food, clothing, anything you might need. We both lost our meds in the fire (I'm diabetic, have hypertension and several other issues, and she has MS), and our doc phoned in 30 day emergency refills so we didn't have to go without. Some Freepers here also donated cash to us, for which we're eternally grateful. Just ask, and someone will respond with what they can.
Yes, it's overwhelming. But keep the faith.
