Ftr, if Kyle was my son I would have done everything to advise and prevent him from taking the short drive over the state line. Id like to think my son would agree with me to wait for the Zombie hoards to show up in our zip code or the next zip code. Thing is, if you have any experience with sons you know passions run high at that age and good luck trying to keep them close to home where it’s safe and smart.

I have a son. He went to Antarctica and rolled a kayak in that water, he climbed to Everett base camp, he flew his own plane and also went sky diving, and too many other trips to mention. Now he wants to hike Morocco and Congo and visit Guinea etc etc. It's more than I can take!

Adventurism for adventurism’s sake is a scourge. Too late for your son, but perhaps your grandchildren can be spared. One time at picking up the pieces of a family that has lost their father or son to the self centered ego of mountain climbing or deep sea diving will convince one that the credential is not worth the risk. I’ve done it twice.

Well...if you knew his father. He was an international boat racer jet pilot, stunt plane pilot, car racer, businessman, rode jumping horses..etc etc.

I think my son inherited this.

The boat racing was very dangerous...too many young families ended up without a father and a husband...and for what. It was the worst.

There really isn’t a thing I can do to stop it.
