CNN's Nina Turner: America Is Rooted In Racism And Needs To Be Redeemed
RCP video ^ | 8-23-2020 | Tim Hains

DONALD TRUMP, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES: But over the last week, the Democrats held the darkest and angriest and gloomiest convention in American history. They spent four straight days attacking America as racist and a horrible country that must be redeemed.

ANDERSON COOPER, CNN: I mean, I guess what else would he say? I wonder what you make of it.

(CNN commentator) NINA TURNER: You're reading my mind, Anderson. I mean, because he does need to be redeemed. I don't which convention he was look at though. But this country needs to be redeemed. This country is racist. It's rooted in racism.

When we talk about immigration, it's a country founded on the back and blood and sweat and tears of enslaved Africans and in the first generation born of African-Americans for generations.

It is a nation that stole the land from indigenous people.

Come on. We're trying to get to the high ideas but we're not there yet.

So, I'm not surprised President Trump would paint the Democratic convention in that way. That is what he does. He is delusional if he thinks it's rewriting revisionist histories.

(snip)

We have an opportunity, if it is taken, to show that the Democratic Party will be the answer to the corporate interests.

There are 12 billionaires who are at $2 trillion. They control a trillion worth of wealth. Meanwhile, back on Main Street, people are catching all kinds of hell.

So, we're going to stand up for the poor, working poor and barely middle class. And it's better than how the BLM are quoting or mentioning Ella Baker's name. It is living up to the high ideas and the principals by which the freedom fighters fought for.

SO MANY delusional ideas from CNN commentator Nina Turner with just this short script, I don't know where to start. Redemption from who(m)? Who (other than God) has the authority to forgive and redeem people?

You'd have thought after 8 long years of Obama, "people" would ease up on the racism charge a bit. After they played the r-card 24/7 the whole time and it didn't get anywhere. But, Leftists are single-minded and rage-filled. Whatever!

Then of course the CNN commentator had to show her commie card. We should encourage MORE billionaires, and those people on the Main Street should strive to become one of those billionaires.

My goodness, it’s so horrible that you would expect a lot of these people to leave. None of them ever do.

Their ancestors being slaves here was the best thing to ever happen for them.
What percent of freed Negroes went to Liberia?

All human beings are racist to one degree or another. Meanwhile, the US understands that people need to be restrained by laws, which means our system of government is the most anti-racist in the world. This is especially true after the elimination of Jim Crow laws and the Civil Rights act.

If you are looking for racism, just got to any other country and you will find it in spades. i.e. the whole premise of America being racist is a false premise.

“rooted in racism”

A couple pounds of cotton and a couple pounds of tobacco per consumer per year is a small part of the economy.

Assuming they take all of Whitey’s money, which they will surely do if they get into power, and they eliminate Whitey, they will still keep saying that America is a racist country. It will never stop. There is no redemption. There is no forgiveness, ever.

In reality, no country is racist. Individuals can be racist, or not racist. A country cannot have that attribute. In reality, there is no collective guilt based on race. There is individual guilt. In reality, there is no raced-based claim to retribution.

“It is a nation that stole the land from indigenous people.”

My part of Florida was swamp 100 years ago.

Much of the eastern US was uninhabited dense forest.

Most Indian tribes survived by fishing and by farming a few acres. Hunters had a hard time getting through thick forests. Buffalos out west had to be chased on foot until white people brought horses from Europe.

Even today, most of the oceans aren’t owned.

Only three of the 20 or so houses on my street are owned through inheritance.

Most homeowners got what they got from their own efforts.

About 40 years ago Republicans wanted to privatize public housing.

The inhabitants were not interested.

My father used to say that. Had they been left in Africa..and I am NOT saying it was good they were enslaved....but more likely than not they or their family lines would be killed off, starved to death, or worse by now in that war and disease ravaged country.

When Liberia was founded in the 19th century, it was very hard to find black Americans who wanted to go there. Probably a lot of it was fear of early death—colonization ventures notoriously saw a high death rate in their early years. The only world they knew was America. I have run across at least one case of a slave being offered freedom if he would then emigrate to Liberia but preferring to remain a slave in America.
