Could be asymptomatic, or else you Italian-Americans in SI can beat this thing with one hand tied behind your back while mistaking it for the sniffles.

Now I don’t think it’s that :-) I am very concerned about my mother getting it and my aunts.
.I looked at the data. This is bad news for old people. Worse news for old sick people. Not so great news for people with comorbid problems in general

the old folks in our family have been very careful and we have been careful around them and everyone else is still young enough to not really be in a major risk a group.

I do believe some of us have had it. This not because we are tough :-) I think there are a tremendous number of people who don’t know they have it.

Well once it’s out of your system do you have it anymore? When you get the flu does every single flu virus in your body die? When you

When you get cancer and you beat it is every single cancer cell gone?

Or just under control? I never thought about these things before

It’s all about genetics. Why does one spouse get Covid and another doesn’t? Or maybe they did get it but their system fought it off early on.

Like Cancer.

https://scienceblog.cancerresearchuk.org/2019/02/28/science-surgery-why-doesnt-the-immune-system-attack-cancer-cells/

“Our Science Surgery series answers your cancer science questions.

Millie asked us on Instagram: “Why doesn’t the immune system attack cancer cells?”

“Our immune system does attack cancer cells,” says Professor Tim Elliott, a Cancer Research UK-funded immunologist from the University of Southampton.

“It’s recognising and destroying little cancers as they develop all the time. If we didn’t have an immune system, then we would be developing cancer a lot more often.”

This is because the process of cell division isn’t perfect. The rate at which some cells grow and divide means errors can happen and cells become damaged.

In most cases, our immune system acts as quality control, making sure these cellular mistakes are nipped in the bud before they become too sinister. A group of immune cells, called killer T cells, are the ones mostly responsible for patrolling our bodies and destroying damaged cells or small tumours before they cause us harm.”

Since I have no idea if my body will shrug off Covid or make my life miserable like this guy who let his guard down

I have my mask, my face shield..and all my protocols ready just in case. I have no doubt I will get it. And I will be ready to the best of my ability.
