A northern California county has approved a trial plan to pay anyone who tests positive for the coronavirus disease $1,250, with the idea that paying them to stay home is the only way to deter them from spreading the disease.
Alameda county supervisors are arguing that its the only way to prevent people from spreading the disease. Many of them just could not afford to lose two weeks worth of wages to quarantine and isolate, said policy director Vanessa Cedeño.
Its unclear how Alameda County plans to deal with the prospect of individuals intentionally contracting coronavirus with the promise of filing for unemployment and receiving the countys generous stipend for a positive diagnosis. The trial plan does require documentation of a positive test to receive the payment.

WOW! you got to be some special kind of stupid to dream this up
I’m pretty sure I’d find a positive case and ask them to sneeze on me.
I don’t live in Alameda County - wrong side of the Bay. But if someone offered me $1250 to catch COVID-19, I’d sign up. Working from home anyway.
So basically anyone can lie, say “Yeah I have kung flu pay me” and they will get 1,250 bucks..easy money
dont usually bet, BUT
that is a paid incentive
to increase PREVELANCE
of FauXi-Xi’s Atrocity virus.
What could go wrong?
As stunning a lack of critical thinking kills as I’ve seen in some time.
I would say, “This is not going to end well...”, but then it might push us toward herd immunity faster as dipsticks try to huff some corona to get their beer bucks. It could be rather amusing, actually.
Who pays for this? Are there any taxpayers left in Alameda County?
Mind-blowingly stupid.
A lot of rich ones.
What could possibly go wrong. I predict a spike.
As stunning a lack of critical thinking kills as Ive seen in some time.
Freudian...typo?
You could weld their doors shut like they do in China.
OMG! You know it’s just for numbers.
Brace for massive fraud.
Could this be why there appears to be a deluge of supposed new + tests?
Also, did this help to suddenly retire the State gal er Doctor in charge of California Covid testing last night?
What could possibly go wrong?
