Portland voted for this and still has prominent groups supporting the riots.
One of the riot reports mentioned a group of doctors standing off to the side giving (i)moral support. These doctors need to look up “useful idiot” and see how well doctors do under socialism or communism.
Then there is the Benedict Arnold Brigade of veterans supporting the rioting.

It’s the standard insurgency dilemma. The rebels push it to the max.
1) If police/government comes down hard, they create martyrs, and cause collateral damage, both of which the rebels play up for sympathy.
2) If police/government restrain themselves, the government loses support because it appears afraid to act and isn’t doing its job/maintaining public order.
Solution: Hit them once, hit them hard. Better to be hanged for a wolf than a lamb.

Why is it acceptable until it reaches the point of attacking a woman in her own home, and then it’s suddenly not?
Does that mean it would have been acceptable if they had attacked man in his own home?

You can hear what was said in that video. Now, sure, she shouldn't be attacked at her own home because she's wearing a swastika. But, she's not exactly a sympathetic character. Does she walk around wearing the swastika armband all day? Or did she put on the armband and go outside to confront this group? Wonder what her neighbors think of her.
