President Trump is hosting a rally this weekend in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at an indoor arena with space for more than 19,000 people. Meanwhile, Black Lives Matter protests continue outdoors in cities around the globe. Both rallies and protests involve large crowds, standing close together, which means people could presumably catch the coronavirus at either type of event. But scientific evidence suggests that gathering indoors, without masks, as Trump's campaign plans to do this weekend, is a much more dangerous place for the coronavirus to spread than outside at a protest.

No - only a vaccine will start to turn things back to normal (or if covd19 just disappears as SARS did), masks won’t do it. So you’re not saying “just wear them for a little while longer” - to be consistent you have to say “keep your mask on until the end of time”. That’s a lot to expect of people.

Yet, every country that embraces masks (eg: Hong Kong, which has a higher density of people than NYC) have the virus mostly under control by wearing masks everywhere.

Masks have been compulsory by law (from Cuomo) in NYC for 3 months. How did that work out? They have by far the highest infections and deaths per million on the planet.

Young DGAF people are spiking in cases. A mayor has been posting about it. It is not just a function of more tests. Percentage of positives is higher.

So lets say most of them dont have a problem with COVID 19. The real question is are they spreading it to people who will have a problem.

What exactly am I supposed to be protecting myself from? What exactly am I supposed to be protecting others from by wearing a mask?

What virus that comes up next will require we do this BS again? What criteria demands masks be worn until told not to?

This is insane. The masks BS is generally pointless.

Say we declare COVID 19 “season” over. Everyone stops wearing masks. You want to believe that suddenly nobody will get the virus? What happens next? If suddenly infection numbers go up, what then, put the masks back on or simply let nature take its course and show everyone that the masks were more or less pointless to begin with? Shouldn't we just keep wearing masks for everyones perpetual safety?

So many variables. So many questions.

This is stupidity on a national level, IMO.

I've been in contact with thousands of people during this nonsense, with and without masks for me or them. If I wasn't forced to wear one to go shopping I would be wearing one at all.

This crap has been blown way out of proportion, IMO. Not saying it isn't serious, particularly to our older citizens, but calling this overreacting would be an understatement, IMO.
