This lockdown was senseless in every conceivable way. It was totally unnecessary, wouldn't have helped had it been, and completely unworkable regardless. Time to end it now and make sure nothing like this ever happens again.
Obviously, no one can say exactly what would have happened with certainty. I can agree with what you posted for the most part. But it seems pretty obvious that in many areas, we went way beyond what was required to protect our HCS. After watching Italy burn, no one was ready to watch that happen here, except maybe Cuomo and de Blasio. In much of the country, we crushed the curve, but have failed to make any course corrections to keep our small business economy healthy.
And you never saw me criticize Birx or Fauci, or call them names. Nor am I big on conspiracy theories. The virus is real, it’s nasty, it’s not the flu, it’s killing and hurting a lot of people and it’s not just going to disappear. We have to find some balance in managing it, and course corrections will be required along the way. We are at that point. Major changes have more risk, smaller changes less. No changes is worse.
From the
Pit of Hell!
Wont happen. We have spent 20 trillion plus on the War on Poverty since 1965 and poverty rates have stayed the same. When questioned about the outrageous spending, Democrats say, Just think how bad it would have been without the spending!
It showed that the democrat party is evil. That they will destroy the economy, your free expression, 2nd amendment and any other freedoms.
Instead, the governors are spokesmen for a forbidden world. In it there is no innovation--only do-nots. There is no discussion of any innovative ways to do the things in our normal way of life that minimizes infection from the virus. For them, it's only a grotesque exercise of unmitigated power. If the citizen creates a method, there is no recognition. Instead it's citizen finding their place in the news as a law breaker. These demonic governors have no place for the governed whose power comes from them. I might add, whose innovation must come from the governed.
Two things:
1. Bringing the China threat to the front burner.
2. Self-deportation and turning back of asylum seekers
Here is another study that examines they type of fabrics and their effectiveness. The methods of the study are quite sophisticated:
https://pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acsnano.0c03252
The results give similar positive verification of safety for the different fabrics used depending on their thread-count and electrostatic efficiency.
I’m not sure it went WAY beyond. Our numbers of new cases are going down, and the picture varies in the rest of the country, so I think we did MORE than save the health care system, and that’s good.
From what I’ve seen of the reaction from the people, though, I have lost a lot of respect for conservatives in the past few weeks. I chalk some of that up to everyone living in a different part of the country. But there is also some resistance to the recommendations that has resulted in outbreaks, and a lot of heartless remarks.
I think people are just sick and tired of the recommendations and want their old lives back, to the point where they are not thinking compassionately anymore—or are deluding themselves so they can get what they want, without even realizing it.
Seriously? Hard to admit? Most of us knew it was a hoax from the get-go.
“WE
HAVE
BEEN
HAD”
Right. Most of us realized that from the beginning. Then bells went off to confirm it was crap when Fauci, who decreed all distancing to continue even among families, said it was OK for pervs to hook up online and have casual sex if they understood the risk.
“Is there any evidence that grocery store employees have contracted the corona virus in larger numbers than the general population”
I’ve heard, just anecdotally, that the grocery store clerks, floor workers, etc., have NOT had problems. I don’t know what the official data shows, though.
“that the medical field is bracing for the next wave of Covid-19”
“Wolf!” We’re not buying it any more.
“Do you know anyone who caught this virus? It was very real.”
I don’t. I do know that in 2014 my husband and I were so sick with pneumonia (caught in church, I suspect) that we were OK with dying. If it weren’t for having to care for our pets forcing us out of bed a few times a day, the Pearly Gates might’ve been in our future.
People get sick. Every year. People die from being sick. Every year.
Truth bomb!
